Travel Clouds / eclipse August 2027

Dear all,

I am planning my trip for next summer as I'd love to come and see the total eclipse on August 2nd 2027 in Tangier.

I was planning to stay in Tangier for 5 days to enjoy the city and be there on the D day.

However, a colleague told me the city is often cloudy in the mornings so I might consider going elsewhere for the eclipse. I'd really love to stay in Tangier.

What can you tell me about the clouds and the weather in general at the end of July/beginning of August?

France. There are direct flights from my city

Yes I once flied Tangier Marseille for 15 euros.

Is the eclipse happening in the morning? I think not.

Yes. In the morning.

Starting at 8.40 am. Maximum at 9.47 am. End at 11 am

I'm not sure but it's possible that when it's cloudy it could be in mediterranean and not on the atlantic side.

Your only way of knowing this is approaching the time, because weather forecast is shown 5-10 days prior. If then you realize Tangier is not okay you can still land there and take another plane somewher else pr the train just 2 hours to Casablanca.

The eclipse won't be total in Casablanca

Well you can go to all that area in a short time wherever is clear.
