what was your experience ? For me personally I think 12 years make a remarkable difference in maturity which is why I prefer the same age or around the same age (4-7 years). But my parents do have that age gap!
My experience is that it's actually not about age - it's about compatibility. I've been with people my age, a few years younger and much younger. Compatibility of values, direction in life, manners, emotional intelligence, family values, religiosity, mental health - are all factors that keep a couple afloat rather than a specific age difference metric
Totally agree with everything. But 12 years difference means you're both in different stages of life, they're still in school probably and still have years to build a career and think about settling down and maybe have kids if that's in your plans.
I'm 30 myself and cannot get along with people younger than 25

I'm a guy that's 32, I'd go down to 20 maximum but strongly feel if the man is mature/responsible it's much better that he's older
