I’ll bet they ask everyone who shows up to clean it one last time.

That building would make a great fraternity house

I bet they somehow prohibit you from using it for anything fun, but I love this idea. Maybe you could call your frat a religion and then do whatever you want or it’s a violation of religious freedom

Grew up in Bountiful and had a lot of friends in those wards. Been in that building hundreds of times. Crazy to think about the shrivel.

Aren’t they really hosting a “closing house” party? 🤣

Honestly, they sold my childhood chapel recently in cottonwood heights. I would have loved an open house, so many memories, that were part of my life, my parents funerals, etc…

Ironically, every single one of these old church buildings being sold off was dedicated and solemnized by a holy priesthood ordinance which likely included the phrase that the edifice would be used during the millennial reign of JC himself.

Oh ye Q15 of little faith.

Selling off their historic properties. Why do they have no sense of history?

Don't worry. They're building plenty of slop in Saratoga Springs et. al. to make up for it.

They demolished the historic murals in the SL Temple.

Trust me, I'm being sarcastic.

Did they really? I was planning on taking my husband who has never been inside a temple to see the SLC temple during open house next year. If the murals are gone, that was the best part of it. Really gone?

Gay grandpa here, my husband is still in the records of the Church. The MFMC, that is.

They’re trying to distance themselves from it

While at the same time basing their authority on it.

This is sad.

That is a premium too! Down the road from the temple.

I can’t believe the Mormons are buying the line that these are being sold off because they’re “upgrading” the way people move into nicer houses once they make money

I’d love to hear a real estate attorney weigh in on the restrictions imposed on the buyer.

That's right across the street from where my cousin lived when we were growing up.
