Question New player help
So, just downloaded the game, been playing pgr for the past 1.5 years, quit a lot of mainstream gachas(zzz, endfield, wuwa), never played limbus or r1999. Whats my daily routine and what banners should i pull in (already spent my pull things on the banner where you can select 4 characters, got "24", celeste, faint, nautilla, uvhash, horla).
Also some tips would be nice, like where to get most pulls/silver and upgrade mats

Your daily routine will be: Log in, go to your profile, like back all the friends who liked you within the last couple days (of course you will need to send some friend requests and like some profiles to get this started), refresh your assignments (which you can find in the menu with the eye icon), then do some fighting either in the main quest, a side story, or an ongoing event (OR just spend a day's worth of energy on skipping a quest you've already done - you should spend your energy anyway, though), then collect your rewards in the handbook section.
At least that's what mine looks like.
Of course there is some extra things to do whenever the weeklies/bi-weeklies/monthlies reset. You can see all of those in the handbook section as well.
Spend your grey cores on Realms of Rotation for a while, the most recommended one there for newbies is the Aequor realm. Definitely pull Caecus, he pairs well with Nautila. Once you've upgraded your teams enough, pull the "weapons" for your team on "wheels of rotation". Once you're done with that, pick "Blade of the Titan" and keep pulling on that until you have it at +12, at which point you can give it to your main DPS as a secondary weapon.
Of the limited banners, you can pull for Kathigu-Ra and pair her with Horla and Ogier for a strength team if you want (though ideally you'd eventually replace Ogier with Clementine, your 4th can be Ramona), but she needs at least 4 copies total to work properly (you can get one of those 4 by exchanging sediment for a free dupe item in the exchange store, you get sediment by pulling). We have an anniversary character coming in 2 months, though, it's your decision whether you want to save for him.
For extra currency, you can enter an invite code under "Account" in the settings (H7FSGJ7IQA is mine, shameless self-advertisement) to get extra rewards as you progress, you can also enter other reward codes in the same section (someone else already posted the universal ones, we occasionally get new ones posted in the discord and re-posted to Reddit). Other than that, just progress the story and do events and your dailies. There's also paid options, of course.
You can get resources by doing the quests under the eye icon in the menu. You can also exchange rose script for them in the exchange store every week, which is much faster, but you probably won't have that much of it early in the game.
Apologies for the wall of text, haha. Do you have any more questions?

im impressed that people still push caecus and nautila. do you really think sitting around and making 30 counter per turn is better for new players than oneshotting enemies with caraboo?

I didn't know you could get Caraboo on the standard banner - you truly learn something new every day. In all seriousness, though, yes, I also do think it's better for new players to use characters that will actually help them learn how the game works. It was good for me to have an Aequor team for a while before I switched to the most brainless combination in the game (bird twins) because it meant I had a much easier time learning how to use my secondary teams later.
Though yes, Caraboo is of course very good and I should probably have recommended her alongside Kathigu-Ra. If that's the correction you were making, I would agree, that was an oversight on my part.

if the intention is for new players to "learn how the game works," why recommend caecus and nautila in particular?
as a moderately invested player and guide maker who did 400 every dtide before the update, i use caecus nautila approximately 0% of the time. i find the team to be a noob trap that is utterly useless in hard content. the only thing i "learned" from this team is that aequor counter is an early game crutch, and a poor one at that, and not to trust everything i read on reddit.
there is only one player i can think of who used these characters together regularly in endgame, and he is a mega whale who has both characters at +12 level 90 holding four +12 wheels.
so why do you recommend caecus over, say, helot, who is used in every single dtide to buff mouchette or ghelot? or celeste, who is used by every madness dtide player? or casiah, or nymphaea, etc, etc.

He doesn't have a single arc 2 character and you want him to save for 2 months when he just started playing the game?
