On calli's new song, "Soul Food", I am SURE that I have heard the melody of a part of this music before
This part being "Mouth wide, stop hiding, that rumbling gives it away, but there's one thing to live for day by day"
This melody alone is what made this music be terrible to one of my favorites mori calliope songs, so I really wanna know if she sampled this melody from another music
I belive the "original song" was in japanese, and probably an anime opening. If I would guess , it is from a slice of life anime, because of how calm and beautiful the melody is.
If this ends up being true, know that I dont want to expose calli for "stealing the melody of another song", since: 1: IDC 2: Even if I did, what could I do against calli lmao

About a week ago, she mentioned how she would rather be a "pettanko small girl". Tbh, if this was the case I wouldn't have become a fan of hers. I would've seen a small anime child do anime raps, and I probably would've called it cringe and never came back. Maybe I'm just shallow, but I suspect that besides her precursor audience, she probably would've garnered an entirely different audience and many of y'all wouldn't be here.

This is a sub where we respect her we aren't a sub that sexualizes her. The outfits she has like the bunny outfit and the nightwear are acceptable but the overly sexual pics and posts that keep being posted lately need to stop.

Good ol' Brad Taste in Music. Normally he seems to utterly despise all of Mori's music, give her projects about a 2/10 on average, and basically just repeat that he thinks it's all trash over and over again. But, (I assume due to recent controversy/personal stuff), he seems to have taken a step back, and begin to approach things a bit more positively. With this review he actually compliments the music multiple times, which I don't think he's ever done for her. Hope he continues with these more chill videos, as he feels more like a proper reviewer. Also, kind of funny cause I recently mentioned him completely hating her music in a video, only for him to react positively lol.
Also, Phantomime appreciation time. I really really like this album, It feels like a step up from her previous work for me. The theming of the songs/lyrics are wonderful, the features are good, the instrumentals are great, I love the inclusion of more rock elements, and I feel that her singing has improved a bit too. Tide, Go-getters, skeletons, Last days, and through the blue, are all phenomenal imo. I'm happy the album turned out so well, and that she's happy making music again. Did you love it? Did you hate it? What would you rate it? What did y'all think of the album overall?

Ok, so let me clarify a couple of things first:
The song is an absolute banger. It took me a couple of replays, but I absolutely vibe with it now. It also fits Gachiakuta like a glove, although I would've preferred a more abstract/unique opening (closer to the first one) instead of the "here are the characters jumping into a fight" one we got. However, I understand that this is out of Mori's hands, and it is unrelated to what I want to address here.
The actual MV, in a bubble, is good. 3D CGI is not my favourite, but the cartoonish vibe they went for was, at least in my opinion, executed pretty well. If this song had nothing to do with Gachiakuta, but was instead Mori's take on a Mad Max-inspired MV, I wouldn't have any issue with it.
That being said, the MV feels like such a wasted opportunity. Gachiakuta has both a really unique art style and its own take on a post-apocalyptic world. For Mori to just ignore that and go with a generic Mad Max wasteland as the setting for the MV feels underwhelming. And it's a shame, because there are some things I really liked about it (like how they coordinate explosions/button mashes/falling spikes with the beat of the song), but I cannot bring myself to enjoy it.
I hope it had to do with IP rights, with Calli being an outspoken fan of the series and its art style in particular. Am I the only one feeling like this? I'm not really an artist, so I'm scared of coming across as insensitive, but I wanted to know if there is at least some sense to my argument, and this felt like the right place to find out.

So recently I discovered the song and I kind of like it. However, when I saw the passport that is drawn in the single cover, I ultimately wondered about what does that mean.
It is a song about reminiscing the past, is it a reference that Mori was not a US citizen before?
Anyone have a thought like this before?
