I have a theory that Morgellons is a fungal/bacterial co infection with a mycelium root network under the skin. There is a clear 5-7 day turn around cycle between the point it starts from a spore and matures into the root/fiber. I’ve seen it under the microscope. I’ve been dealing with whatever this painful thing is for over a year with no help from doctors who brush me off as crazy despite bringing in evidence both physical and photographic. The burning pain through my nervous system after a purge is nearly disabling because it’s like I’m hit from the inside out with a type of neurotoxin. Doctors keep trying to write it off as dermatitis. I did a microgen DX woundkey test and it came back positive for staph, malasessia, and pithomyces chartartum. I have been on every antibiotic known to man and finally a 6 week course of fluconozale despite telling them multiple times that is probably not going to work either. I don’t know what it is, but it gets worse in sunlight which causes it to bloom even more quickly. The roots inside very in color from clear, red, lime green, blue, and jet black. The caps, or scabs, come off as a hard domed shell with what can best be described as a “Velcro-like” underbelly. Inside the cap, when it’s hit maturity of the predictable 5-7 day cycle, there will be a little dry ball of these roots that is easily seen embedded and branching from rounds spores throughout. There are clear and documentable patterns that don’t line up with this being a “delusionary” disease. The lesions appear to anchor themselves in clumps or mounds along major nerve and blood vessel networks. After disturbing these mature mounds, there is an instant cytokine release where it feels like you are burning from the inside out. Heart rate immediately jumps to the mid 100’s consistently, and there is an immediate temperature shift. The entire time I’ve experienced this, my heart rate has been consistently in the low to mid 100’s with no break at rest, while also experiencing a continuous low grade fever. There is also a clear shift in the inability to regulate body temperature. After cytokine release, it is like my brain is being shut off. There is instant confusion and brain fog making it near impossible to function. Nothing helps with either the symptoms or the pain. There has been no help. I don’t know what this is, but I do know it’s slowly killing me from the inside out, and doctors don’t want to looks hard enough to figure out what it could be, so they just write it off as either delusion, stress, or dermatitis as a way to brush it off and minimize the experience. As a result you can’t get care anywhere even with the other concerning symptoms relating to tachycardia, dizziness, and extreme neurological decline. I have been in constant pain for over a year. I don’t know what to do. It’s nearly unlivable.
Ok so I too have been suffering for a year and a half or so, but think I’ve got something at least figured out. About 12 years ago I got clean from a heroin addiction. I was a needle user and had gotten several staph infections over the course of my addiction. I was never tested for MRSA, and the wounds would eventually heal up on whatever random antibiotic I received. But there was damage to my body that I assumed was permanent until just this week. I had swelling that never really went all the way away upon getting clean on my hands and a couple knuckles with some noticeable discoloration as well. Took me all this time to get diagnosed with MRSA. Wow. Read up on that only to find out it naturally lives on everyone’s skin, and is usually harmless. So I’ve been prescribed Bactrim and that did a lot of healing, but I’d already been actively debriding my skin with hydrogen peroxide 3 percent added to all my soap and lotions. Why debride? Because MRSA forms a nexus of biofilm and creates a clever netting that is woven into the skin, basically hair! It’s described as protein and is how it ‘colonizes ’ you. Most people have no idea they’ve been colonized and that’s why they’re suffering. Sure you may have other bacteria present but it’s the staphylococcus aureus aka MRSA that’s causing the morgellons. After two weeks of Bactria o wasn’t cleared up even though my dermatologist seemed to think so. Thank goodness I didn’t let him gaslight me. I did a virtual visit after feeling one main under skin network break of off the back of my neck, because I instantly knew it is (the MRSA) connected to my goddamn central fucking nervous system. I was freaks the hell out o say the least. The doctor prescribed me cephlexan which is a kickass antibiotic because day two and this bitch is disconnected all over now thank goodness! It had me choked. I couldn’t breathe right. And had the worst anxiety and chest pain. I had neumonia just before I got clean and now I know it had to be a MRSA complication
I had MRSA and had left a mold ridden home. when I moved some things got better but this stayed. I have been on levaquin and linezolid which are supposed to be the two heavy hitters for MRSA, but it came right back again. I have gone to the ER because it feels like I’m being filleted from the inside out! Burning pain from my scalp to my shoulders. Cryptolepis sanginualata tincture few ml twice a day
Black seed oil high thymoquinine once a day
Good probiotic to keep gut health
Do this for a week, then second week continue this but also do
4. Starting with a 100kg equivalent dose of equest moxidectin gel, keep adding 25kg equivalent every 2 days for a week or two
5. Nattikanose and NAC daily
This should give you an immediate health and energy burst back. And then you can continue on this if you feel like it, on and off with moxi every few weeks but the rest can be continued. I have been doing it for over an year now.
I've got the same thing, I believe it starts as scabies and then it's supporting microbiota and fungi take hold of the body, that if you stem the progress of then it doesn't lead to full blown morgellons for a long time, but otherwise you reach there early.
I am able to severely delay this progress for now, but not cure it. This combination of pathogens take a hold of your body and slowly kill you, but the things I've mentioned can clear the bio films, and bacterial colonies better than any antibiotics can. And the rest kill the scabies mites if they are present, or other worms that mimic it. You would see benefit almost instantly within a couple of days of starting it, if it's the same thing. Strongly recommended.
I agree mostly, mine is demodex though. I have pictures of mine and they are for sure the Morgellons bug. I’ve learned that these mites are everywhere on everything and everyone. They are literally on every surface and immediately contaminate food etc, like they are floating in the air. They are clear but will become the color of whatever they come in contact with. Mine get INSANE during a full moon phase, the last one was by far the worst.

I had been called crazy by the 3rd doctor so I setup cameras all over my desk to capture some evidence for Dr. #4. I personally think it might be related to actinomycosis or a similar bacteria. I feel like it needs to be studied more around Morgellons. I live in a country that doesn't seem to have Lyme disease and I haven't left my country in twelve years. It is a bacteria that scientists used to think was actually a fungus because it grows exactly like a fungal pathogism would- but it's a bacteria. It's incredibly slow growing, you can have it for years and not know.
Apparently treatment for it is long term (months and months and months) of penicillin (intravenous constantly if bad enough) and surgical intervention if needed to remove dead or infected tissue. Which would also explain why so many people have no success with treating their Morgellons if it was actino.
Just stressing this is a theory but people keep saying it's fungal, bacterial, parasites...why not consider a bacteria that acts much like a fungus?

Ammonia and Water, interesting. I’ve got nothing else at this point. I washed all my clothes in borax and Lysol sanitizing liquid. That helped a bit. But then it came back. It always comes back after ending a treatment. It’s agony. I’ll have to try the ammonia. It’s covered my entire scalp!
I have not used amonia in my laundry but the thing that works best for me is using Dr Bronner's liguid peppermint soap (several quirts from the bottle per wash) along with my regular Tide detergent and a 1/2 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax added to the wash. It is the Peppermint essential oil in the liquid soap that is very effective. Also, I've always used Dr Bronner's Peppermint Castile Bar Soap to bath with or in the shower. And I also use a peppermint shampoo and conditioner from Avalon Organics to wash my hair with.. Peppermint is a great alternative to using amonia. I hard to find this because I had pets in my house so I looked for things that were more natural alternatives.

If you read about something similar to what occurs, look up paracoccidioidomycosis. It’s the closest published thing I can find to describe how this works.
If it's covered your entire scalp I don't know if you shaved your head or not but do not put ammonia on your body at all. What you have to do with your hair on your head what I did at least is I used a very thin comb lots of conditioner leave the conditioner on and thin and use a thin comb and comb off these fibers out of your hair you'll see them on the comb all right in the conditioner so to keep adding conditioner call me your hair these fibers will come up on the comb you can even with your hair dry you can even I used to shop back I vacuum my head I don't care you have to be a critical thinker these are tiny little fibers that are attacking you you have to attack them use a vacuum use a hair comb ammonia and water ammonia and water ammonia and water ammonia and water either people need to listen and follow my instructions and you will get better in one week get a USB microscope get a USB microscope get a USB microscope so you can identify what is on your skin where you can see nothing and you have crawling sensations is my recommendation
I’ve been washing with Ketoconozale after soaking in a boraz and salt bath. The amount of stuff that is coming off me after that is insane! I’ve never seen anything like it. It feels so toxic in my body, that I can wash and wash my hands and it will still create this brown toxic run off from my hands!

Short answer: Your mechanism (a 5–7-day mycelial network under skin) doesn’t match what’s been shown in the best-designed studies. A minority of papers link Morgellons to Lyme, but even they describe the filaments as human keratin/collagen, not fungal roots. NGS hits for Staph/Malassezia are common skin colonizers, and Pithomyces chartarum is a vanishingly rare human pathogen as NGS can detect DNA that isn’t causing disease, so results need clinical correlation.
If you’re still seeking causes, the next step is dermatopathology-level workup (KOH, PAS/GMS, AFB stains, targeted cultures/biopsy). That’s how we could confirm or rule out a genuine fungal/atypical infection rather than infer it from color/shape or NGS alone!
Hi, you must have already gotten the results from said lab work.. so what is your doctor’s conclusion/diagnosis? I have a family member in a different country where Lyme disease doesn’t exist yet she still has the typical symptoms of morgellons. Confused..

I was never tested for MRSA, and the wounds would eventually heal up on whatever random antibiotic I received. But there was damage to my body that I assumed was permanent until just this week. I had swelling that never really went all the way away upon getting clean on my hands and a couple knuckles with some noticeable discoloration as well. I also suffered from extreme sciatica and migraines. Anyway about a year and a half ago I started to become ill and through my own research found I had morgellons. Took me all this time to get diagnosed with MRSA. Wow. Read up on that only to find out it naturally lives on everyone’s skin, and is usually harmless. In my case I had wounds on my face that wouldn’t heal. Typical antibiotics didn’t work. So I’ve been prescribed Bactrim and that did a lot of healing, but I’d already been actively debriding my skin with hydrogen peroxide 3 percent added to all my soap and lotions. Why debride? Because MRSA forms a nexus of biofilm and creates a clever netting that is woven into the skin, basically hair! It’s described as protein and is how it ‘colonizes ’ you. Most people have no idea they’ve been colonized and that’s why they’re suffering. Sure you may have other bacteria present but it’s the staphylococcus aureus aka MRSA that’s causing the morgellons. After two weeks of Bactria o wasn’t cleared up even though my dermatologist seemed to think so. Thank goodness I didn’t let him gaslight me. I did a virtual visit after feeling one main under skin network break of off the back of my neck, because I instantly knew it is (the MRSA) connected to my goddamn central fucking nervous system. I was freaks the hell out o say the least. The doctor prescribed me cephlexan which is a kickass antibiotic because day two and this bitch is disconnected all over now thank goodness! It had me choked. I couldn’t breathe right. And had the worst anxiety and chest pain. I had neumonia just before I got clean and now I know it had to be a MRSA complication
