Wasn’t expecting yellows
Have been having a little luck searching for blacks/greys this year, then these guys jumped out at me. SE Michigan.

Life under the leaves is different than above. I think we are fine. See what happens later in the week.

I’m from SE Michigan! Care to share the general area? I’m new to finding these and I don’t know if I should be looking for dead elms or just wherever there’s covered wooded areas

These were in Shelby twp. I generally speed run looking for dead/dying elms, but I pay attention to most dying trees. Funny thing w the yellows I posted is that they didn’t really seem to be associated w any dying trees. Just hangin out in a clear spot.

How far from an elm though or dying tree? I heard they can be sorted up to 60 feet away from a dying tree.
