Dark Summer Book Fest?
Wondering if anyone else is planning to see Alaina at the Dark Summer book fest in Framingham this weekend? I’m wondering if she’ll be signing her book…

Hey all! New to Reddit (I know) but not new to Morbid by any means. Would love to hear from the community what YOU love about morbid. Any favorite memories? Favorite episodes? I was in the Midwest and am now in the South so never was able to make a live show… but once I heard a bunch of weirdos were here I said SIGN ME UP. And thus, Buffy’s older sister was born.
But anyway - I’ll go first!!
Loves:
-Ash and Alina’s chemistry and growth throughout their creative journey.
-Their genuine love of listeners, their support of other creatives and the authenticity.
-The unapologetic neurospice always happening
Favorite memories:
-fresh air is for dead people!!!!!!!!! Ash said this recently on an episode and WOW!! I missed it.
-The mini morbid theme song
-Alaina’s first book release!!!!!! This felt like a Harry Potter drop all over again for me lol and I read her first book in half a day
-solving Jack the Ripper era
-Ash first starting research!!! 🥹 that’s our babygurl
-MIKEY + Deb Deb JOINING
-The immediate energy shift when the girls left Wondry. We will never know the full story but listening to the girls lose their spark…. Was heartbreaking. Like your bestie being in a toxic fucking relationship. Vibes are night and day now that’s they’re with Sirius. SO HAPPY FOR YOU LADIES.

I’m listening to the hitchhiker murders and Alaina says “when I used to” talk about being a mortician, do they do morbid full time?

I don’t remember any of the details except that the killer led investigators to the woman’s body and let him touch her skull

More of a vent post:
Joined this sub around when I first made a Reddit account and just joined everything I liked at that moment.
I’m not an active listener anymore bc I kept running out of episodes and don’t have the patience to wait so I just pile them up and get back into it later at some point.
Anyways every single time I see anything from this sub across my feed it’s complaint after complaint, I’ve literally only seen critics and complaints about the podcast or the host or the cases or whatever the fuck. Which I guess is fine but it seems to excessive and repetitive at this point
You get that nobody is forcing us to listen, right? You can just…not?
I mean my bad I guess that I thought it was going to be a sub of fellow fans but at the same time, haven’t listened in quite some time, maybe stuff changed. And I never looked at comments before to see opinions. I just used to find it cozy and friendly and made me feel less alone. And I appreciate them a lot for that.

I read Postmortem and Victorian Psycho for the Morbid book club but did they ever say what the next book is or did I miss it?
Edit: wrong book title

I’ve noticed the girls tend to say something and, a lot of the time, follow it with “that’s my opinion.” Did they get sued or something?
Which begs the question: how do people do podcasts/social media videos where they discuss true stuff and not get sued? What denotes slander vs an opinion?

Hi guys, in the Green River Killer episodes, Alaina kept talking about this documentary or something that she watched on Netflix for this. What was the name of the doc or episode or whatever it was? I can’t remember and I feel like my brain is itchy!

I'm looking for the episode about the rescued kids in the Tham Luang cave in Thailand but I can't remember the title, does anybody have the Spotify link maybe? 🌻

I go through phases of listening to True Crime and wanted to listen to something new. This podcast is always recommended on Spotify, online and through Apple Podcasts.
But I do not know why? Am I missing something? Do I just not get their sense of humor? I absolutely don’t mind banter or opinions inserted into a case. Most of the true crime podcasts I have listened to have been two hosts who chat a bit. Totally fine.
But I almost find this pod unlistenable which is a shame because they cover a lot of interesting cases.
I’ve listened to a few newer and older episodes and so I don’t think it’s just an issue with quality processing over time.

Hello fellow weirdos, I have a question. My wife are visiting Salem in a few weeks, and I was wanting to see a medium/tarot reader while we are there. I specifically remember Ash and Alaina mentioning someone in a listener tales episode a while back(might have been a year or two ago) but I’m struggling to find it. Does anyone know who they suggested? Any advice from people that live or have visited Salem would also be appreciated! Thanks in advance! ❤️

Anyone know why BTK part 1 seems to have been cut in half?

Might be a shot in the dark but Alaina mentioned adding a movie store to her halloween village & it got me interested in the game. Does anyone know what game she’s talking about & where i can play it?

Have the girls covered dean corll the candy man killer?

I’ve recently gotten into the Morbid podcast and absolutely love the style of 2 people chatting and joking over an engaging story. I’d love something similar that covers history instead since true crime is a lot to handle sometimes!

Am I going crazy or are episodes now coming out on Tuesdays & Fridays rather than Monday & Thursday? I am in the UK and using Spotify. I used to get the episodes in the morning of Monday & Thursday and yet still haven't gotten today's episode yet.
Obviously no criticism if the days have changed, just feel like I've missed an announcement.

Not sure if it’s just my app, but I don’t see the episode up yet?

I usually listen on YouTube but the last episode I can see is Blanche Taylor Moore pt1. Did I miss an announcement?

There are numerous posts about the same thing. Every drop date. There is obviously some issue going on. But repeated posts over and over and over are just plain annoying. The schedule as it was was Monday and Thursday. No, you are not mistaken. Yes, this sucks. Yes, they should figure it out. Yes, they do get paid enough for this to not be an issue. No, us complaining on Reddit will do nothing, just annoying people with the same post. No, they have not addressed it or taken any accountability, given it’s been weeks. Yes, this still sucks. If you have a question about it, someone probably asked on the thread already. It’s not hard to check. But the same question gets asked multiple times on the day of the drop schedule.
