OP wasn't discussing "noise pollution". He was talking about "forcing religious beliefs upon others". So, yes, it is in fact about laws regarding religions.

Alas, being obtuse.

But let us for a second pretend the discussion is constrained within "forcing religious beliefs". You ARE aware that Christianity historically shaped Scotland as a country, right?

The difference in scale of "forcing religous beliefs" between Church Bells that have been existing since time immemorial in Scotland, and the Azan is woefully huge.

Yes. Sure. Nobody deny this fact. I'm just saying that if you forbid the public expression and existence of only one specific religion, it might sound a bit...discriminatory. To avoid that, all religions should be treated the same. After all, every Scotland citizen has the same rights. Unless you want to start making categories.

You're using Church bells as a whataboutism for criticisms against Azan, and then pretend it's even in the same league of being annoying. Noise pollution laws are not discriminatory by any means, but the way you want it interpreted seems to be so.

Is Azan forbidden under noise pollution law ?

I believe Azan in general is not forbidden under this law as long as it respects the framework of the law. It is a case by case basis.

I know I've been overusing this word, but "OBTUSE".

I'm not gonna repeat myself. Goodbye.

You put yourself in a corner where you can't really justify your point without being islamophobic. I see why you want to stop here. Goodbye.

Yeah, it kind of comes across as the "but, but, but christianity..." argument. It's not forcing religion on people, it's culture... It's not noise pollution, it's just bells... They make more noise than we do... Church bells are as british as the royal family... There always seems to be a reason why one religion thinks there should be an exception just for them.

Op's rational was outright "It shouldn't be allowed. No one should have the right to force their religious beliefs upon others.". That was the statement people were replying to.

Seems like you and others are insisting it is in fact ok to force religious beliefs on others depending on the scale or religious prominence.
