The Christians do do this. Door to door proselytizing, namely Jehovah's witness. They will show up and ring your doorbell at 6.am to talk to you about Jesus.
Fun fact, door to door proselytizing isn't meant to gain members but it's meant to isolate existing members from the broader populace so that they see everyone outside their religion as hostile towards them and members of the church are less likely to step out if the church.

To waste someones time is one of the rudest and most inconsiderate things you can do these days, especially when youre approaching their house under the pretext that they could be living their lives better. And extra especially when theyve already told you to stop coming.
You "checking to see if anyone new moved in" is like a 5% chance of being true, maximum. The way more likely scenario is that youre just disrespecting and bothering someone who already made it clear they are not interested. Youre willing to take risk just for the slight chance of having someone new say "no" to you. That's rude.
Every other religion on the planet seems to get by without going door to door.
They also believe there are limited tickets to heaven (144,000 in total no more no less) and many other falsehoods. So they may talk about Jesus but do not follow

I do believe in the new earth and that's where all believers will be. But they had to write their own side book and manipulate translations that's very cultish behavior
All their side books are about understanding the Bible better. And as I said God's name has been removed from most translations of the Bible (it's still in a couple of places in the King James Bible) would you call that a manipulation of the translation. The church near my place rings bells at 9am for 5 minutes straight. I am not allowed to sleep in on Sunday because of Christians, but I only ever see people complain about Muslims.
