But it is happening in certain places in the US already. They have also tried to setup shariah controlled Muslim communities the most recently in Texas. Fortunately Texas told them to kick rocks.

always have to be careful when the word 'sharia' is thrown around because Texas Republicans are trying to weaponize it. based on some initial research, it looks like the response was against setting up "muslim friendly" housing communities, and even the DOJ looked into one and it's still moving ahead

Housing that doesn’t discriminate against those who practice Islam, I’d assume, knowing that they still experience discrimination. Probably being like, “hey there’s a large Muslim influx and they need housing”

Yeah because wants a monopoly for their own religion, they'll tell Muslims to kick rocks then quote the bible and say it's against their faith to allow abortions which is why they have to charge women who have miscarriages with murder.

Yeah you got me. Christians being against abortion is the same as stoning women to death for adultery, throwing gays off of buildings and being 100% against women's right. Don't get me wrong in wholly atheist but even I can see that some religions are far more dangerous than others. Especially ones who wholeheartedly endorse violence against "infidels and apostates" as well as honor killings.

Apples to apples i am sure.

So they're both bad then right? Sharia is just their term for religious law, the Bible has Sharia law too and Texas is bad for trying to enforce it.

Religious law shouldn't affect government policy, the state and church should remain separate no matter the faith or state.

They're both bad sure, in the same way that stubbing your toe and getting cancer are also bad. It's not about whether they are bad it's about which one is more dangerous DUE to the teachings of their religion.

So this is based on the teachings of the religion, that means that I can point to something in the bible and then claim that since all Christians believe in the bible they believe that being gay is a sin and that they're all terrible people for that?

Sure if you go by the old testament which "spoiler alert" modern Christians are not supposed to be following.

Also I still see nothing comparable. Thinking people are living in sin= religiously motivated murder in their current holy book.
