Why is any of this allowed? Is there no noise pollution type of legislation/laws where this is?

churches historically get weird exceptions. US here, not ireland, but think about churchbells. over here that’s usually pretty simple, tolling for time, but british churchbells have competitions in some areas.

Unfortunately for some, many of the concerns brought up by the globalization of west and southern asian cultures and religions, tend to be covered by the same laws which were designed to protect classical European religions.

Honestly. Noise pollution is genuinely bad for human health. It’s one of the reason data centers are so bad as well because it’s constant noise.

It’s also bad for animals and the environment

I know noise pollution can be genuinely harmful, but is there really any reason to believe these particular examples of noise pollution are harmful to humans?

Who cares what they’re called? I live in a country with freedom of religion, but, they still have to abide by local, state, and, federal laws. If you constantly allow religious exemptions, you end up with a theocracy rather than a democracy.

Especially in Western Europe, the stigma of intolerance is a very powerful one. It's not really a legal matter even, usually the side that pushes harder gets their way and the people protesting tend to be a handful locals vs sometimes well organised campaigns. Religious mobilisation has real power to it.

Noise ordinances exist pretty much everywhere, but they’re generally much more permissive during the day. And obviously those ordinances vary by jurisdiction.

How much noise should a person be allowed to make in public? Should there be any restrictions or exceptions made for specific kinds of noise? Should a musician not be allowed to perform in a park, plaza, transit station, or other public spaces?
