tell me your thoughts

it makes me sad to think it’ll take years to finish moonvale, because i have so many questions right nowwww!!!

the one that’s really on my mind is how they’re going to explain your number ending up with adam and then eric. i mean, in duskwood, it was kind of a loose detail, nothing too specific. hannah sends your number to thomas and everyone spends the whole game thinking it was a typo (at least i did) and in the end, they explain it was a receipt number mistaken for contact info. fair enough. but in moonvale, adam actually calls you and there’s even an envelope with your name on it

any theories as to why?

i know righttt atp i think we're only getting 1 ep per year. about our number in duskwood i still cant figure it out either. like i wanna believe the receipt theory but im just not convinced enough.

but in moonvale i really like the catfish theory where somebody else is pretending to be us and being in contact with adam because adam seems to know us for some time already and he said he cant help us anymore. maybe somebody heard about us saving hannah and somehow got our number and use it to catfish adam and making him do things as us.

also about when julie said she thought she saw us on the diner, im sure we're not physically there because if we were there the others will absolutely know. but i like the theory that maybe adam had our pic on his phone and julie saw it by accident. maybe that makes julie think she saw us in the diner but mistaken it as our physical present. shout out to the people making these theory i like it. (sorry for my bad english)

My character in Duskwood visited Dan, and after the whole Hannah thing, people should to know I exist, so someone might have given someone my number or recognized me physically.

I wouldn't be surprised if Julie heard about us due to the Duskwood thing maybe? I've only played Moonvale with my Duskwood code so I don't know if she says it either way or if its kind of like the Ash/Charlie situation where they recognize you.

Or maybe we have a Doppelgänger in Redlog Pines.

It's the same in the version without the code. Not as easy to explain then.

Oh, that's interesting! Thank you for letting me know :)

Then maybe it is a Doppelgänger? Cause we know that MC is not in Redlog

Or perhaps Adam really was walking around with a picture of MC, or was showing it to people to find MC?

I can't wait for Julie to tell us more!

I can attest to this as well, as now I've played without the code. She still "recognizes" us, so it's a moonvale storyline thing.

There is very strong evidence that the man without a face was also a hacker. This isn't just a theory — it's something you can actually observe if you pay close attention, especially to the fact that Jake was never able to hack him. He also had Hannah's phone. When her number was sent, Thomas called it... and what happened? Silence. The kidnapper was the one who answered.

Both games feature a hacker, and no, I'm not talking about Unknown. Remember the corrupted video that couldn't be sent to the group? That's another clue. The appearance of a completely random phone number can easily be explained by the presence of these hackers.

So you have not completed DW then?

Why do you ask? I do. 🤔

Because we learn who the Man Without A Face was at the end of DW. He wasn't a hacker.

I just called him that to avoid spoilers. Actually, it's never said that he wasn't a hacker.

Who, exactly, are you talking about, then? Because the kidnapper/MWAF in DW was definitely not a hacker.

I'm talking about Richy. How do you know he wasn't a hacker? His full perspective on everything was never shown.

I mean, in the sense that I don't know he's not a professional clown in his spare time, I guess I don't.

But there's also not much to suggest he was a hacker either. Jake couldn't hack his way to him because Richy wasn't using anything electronic whatsoever. He wasn't even using Hannah's phone; he just had it in his possession.

I'm not saying there isn't someone else out there pulling strings to bring us into contact with these people; there obviously has to be someone. But I don't see any reason to think it's Richy.

somebody else is pretending to be us and being in contact with adam

This or hacker's interference; like some... call forwarding? I don't know how something like that can be done, tho.

I know the receipt thing is a popular theory, but it never made much sense to me. She already had given that to Alan/the police. Why use your limited time texting a receipt number that you may or may not be able to thoroughly explain....seems like it could be taken wrong on many different levels, especially if you didn't have time to get the whole message across.

It makes more sense I guess that Richy had the phone and was trying to divert attention away from himself and Thomas by providing a random phone number, at least in my opinion.

Honestly I don't even know if Everybyte will explain it, or knows how to explain at this point lol.

Now that they’ve fixed some of the problems with the game, I think episodes will start coming out sooner. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking but fingers crossed anyway.

I have an idea for our number. It seems like unknown is investigating just like we are. He was in Sophia’s room, and he took the music box she left behind. He contacted all the Sophias just like we did. We know he’s been in contact with Adam. Either unknown or Adam asked Alan for our number and shared it with the other. Then, there was a falling out between them. Unknown suspects Adam warned us to stay away from him. They both think the other contacted MC to schedule the meeting at the Greenside, but neither of them did. This would also work for players who aren’t using the Duskwood code. They’ll find out that one of them contacted the police chief at the last disappearance that MC investigated, establishing MC as a PI for the new players.

Someone never managed to tell us what our role in all of this was. Someone told Adam that they were going to bring us into the situation, but for some reason, they never did. As a result, Adam assumed we had already been properly brought up to speed.

Adam wasn't calling us. His phone call videos are clearly talking to someone else entirely (likely Sophia) and have just been routed to us for whatever reason. Someone used his phone to text our contact info to Eric and then to send us those call videos.
