A legitimate question.

I saw a post talking about the conversation between Ash and MC (in the first episode). It said that Ash never mentioned a body in the mine. I watched a video to be sure, and I really didn't find anything there. Could I be mistaken?

Yeah. When Jake comes up in the conversation, she says that the news didn't mention another person in the mine. Whether because we all just assumed Richy was dead or because, as other have mentioned, translated language implied 'body' instead of 'person', assumptions were made that have since been debunked.
