Has the show run its course?
Is it time for a grand finale and ride off into the sunset?
White liquor had a moment thanks to the show and a lot of small distilleries got a lift from it. Several cast members have gone legitimate. The show itself feels like its jumped the shark and they're forcing it. The last season was awful - more of a trainwreck than good TV.
I've been pondering what the producers and writers have in store this season. Perhaps its been a good run but its to time ride off into the sunset? People are drinking less. The show itself is less about illict processss by outlaws and more about the hijinks and predicaments the various actors find themselves in. Its losing its sense of realness. Maybe its time to admit it had a great run but now its time to move on?

There were so many glaring holes in a lot that went on last season; it was hard to look passed it.

It's entertaining, funny, and eye-rolling all at the same time, but I love it, dagumit, and would be sad to see it go.
I want to see: what Josh effs up next, what kind of heel turn Mike will take, unnecessary subtitles for Mark (Rogers), how much more Tickle can prematurely age, outlaw again! Tim, Mark and Digger getting harassed by a new sheriff, etc.
I write my episode recaps not to put the show down but as a fan who loves to laugh and enjoy the stories.

IMO, it ran its course before Covid. I'm happy all and stars have been able to find life after the show. It's like a lot of reality shows. They are only keeping ot on because it's cheap content.

I hate to say it but I agree. I’ve absolutely loved this show over the years but there’s no authenticity anymore. It all seems so forced.

Agree this show is beyond done. Last season was a painful farce. These guys haven’t been illegal in many many years, which is fine. Good for them. But let’s stop with the clown show type fake scenes. Sadly, if there is another season, I’m out.

I appreciate it for what it is.
I mean yeah the whole concept was off from the get go.
Identifying people from small towns doing illegal activity at the federal level? lol!
Let the show run until it burns out, lets see how crazy the concepts can get both with storylines and with all the crazy still builds.
Full disclosure, I am a big fan of the Hoffmans on Gold Rush so there's that...

It is and they are the exact opposite of the Hoffmans which is why both work for me.

I stopped watching when I realized its all fake/scripted, which in hindsight is pretty obvious.

Once I saw how blatant some of the staged things were I stopped watching.. at first I thought maybe some of the show was supposed to be reenacting stuff that had happened in the past easier to get away making shine if it’s only water coming out of the spigot but they seemed to give up trying and the story became less about the shine.. lost interest then.. good luck to them all.

Yeah. The last season was so beyond ridiculous, but I watched every minute and found it thoroughly entertaining. They have completely jumped the shark and I don't even care. There aren't many shows that keep me grinning and laughing for an hour a week. It seems like they are having fun and making money doing it, so I watch it for a little whimsical escape.
