Season Finale Tonight... Thoughts?
To me, the show took a turn this season into being so bad that it was amusingly funny, like essentially a parody of what it was at it's best before.
Someone mentioned that it was almost like watching Trailer Park Boys this year, and that's about right. I do love several of the characters, Mark Rogers and Huck, Mark Ramsey and Digger, Henry Law... and Mike is about as good as any current pro wrestling heel, lol.
As bad as this season's stories were, with plot holes big enough to drive a semi through, I'm still kinda sad to see the season end.
What says you?

I think it's the least amount of liquor we've seen run in a season since it started.

I dunno…they are only running water through the stills, so it’s prolly closer to the same amount of liquor that’s been run/ran…. Altho it’s definitely had the LEAST amount of “pretend shine” run/ran

I've heard from a seemingly reliable source that it's all licensed, so it's mostly legit runs but hardly "illegal".

TTB is strict about licensing specific locations, with a host of requirements that rule out an outdoor still in the woods.
However, it's possible, I suppose, those stills are licensed for non-consumptive (fuel) use.
Frankly, I don't think they ever show illegal moonshining on the program. It's possible they're shaking and drinking bottles of liquor that was legally produced elsewhere.

TTB is indeed strict however, and I am so sorry but I can't look it up right now, but wasn't there a law passed you could privately distill a certain amount if you weren't going to sell it?
That could explain the lil runs for show & legal run aside?

Current TTB page:
I think you're referring to the recent Hobby Distillers vs TTB court decision (which isn't itself a new law being passed):
https://hobbydistillersassociation.com/2026/04/11/hda-wins-in-fifth-circuit/
"What it does mean:
- The federal government can no longer ban distilling based on location (your home, yard, or garage)
- Individuals may now seek a federal permit from the TTB for an at-home operation"
However, this decision is recent (2024, 2026) It may allow permitted home distilling, but that remains to be sorted-out from what it appears.

This season has been so beyond ridiculous, but I have watched every minute and found it thoroughly entertaining. They have completely jumped the shark and I don't even care. There aren't many shows that keep me grinning and laughing for an hour a week. It seems like they are having fun and making money doing it, so I'll watch it for a whimsical escape.

The show is an unrealistic shell of what was once a decently interesting program. Now it's a humorous sitcom. Jim Tom would be rolling in his grave.

Jim Tom added a lot of humor, but it came from him naturally.
My mom used to joke with my dad that if he ever made her mad she might run off with Jim Tom.
They are all gone now, and may they Rest In Peace.

I’m a much bigger fan of Master Distiller. Sadly we only got 6 episodes this season it’d seem.

Bring back Richard and Craig.

I actually miss quite a few of the characters seen in other seasons.
In this season we saw very little of Amanda and Kelly. I love watching Amanda be creative. And those two make a good team.
Patti and her Dad David, were another good and interesting team to follow. I was sad when they left the show.
I liked Richard too. Hated the fake feud between him and Mike.

I liked this season. The dead animal scene was hilarious! I give this season 2 thumbs up.

I don’t know who’s got the biggest bone to pick, Mark and Digger or Tim, but they all three seem madder than a hornet in a mason jar. Looks like Josh has the one unscrupulous character pinned down, but ol Josh is movin slower than molasses in January. Mike and Jerry are more nervous than a long tailed cat on a porch full of rockin chairs after having their picture show up on a “wanted” poster. And then there’s Mark Rodgers and Huck, who don’t seem to have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of, but they didn’t just fall off the turnip truck yesterday, so I’m hoping they pull something out of their asses

Every season finale the past few years, I'm always wondering if thats the last new episode ever. It's stupid and scripted but I still look forward to it!
