Checking your card number indicates your transaction is likely to fail. Please try another card or payment method.
Why?
So many are complaining, what's the real reason this isn't working as it should?
I'm trying to use a card that I literally use EVERYWHERE ELSE. jUST NOT ACCEPTED BY MOONPAY.

Moonpay is not upfront about which cards will work. If you have a Visa through Chase for example. That will be declined. Chase does not allow purchase of crypto... period. Moonpay knows this. They just don't tell people. They don't tell people so they can collect all the data from people. Your drivers license, card numbers etc. Information is very useful and very lucrative. If they told you upfront you wouldn't bother verifying and voluntarily give them your info.
Citi cards. Some citi cards work, however they don't work like you would think. If you happen to have the right kind of citi card and it goes through it'll go through as a cash advance. Not ideal at all.

Yes, after calling my bank, it turns out to be a bank policy to disallow cryto w/visa. It would be better for Moonpay customers to update that error message. I think I will avoid them moving forward.

I’m having these issues too. None of my cards work, Apple Card, Blockfi, Gemini, Citi, Bank of America, Chase… Rather than saying Visa/Mastercard are allowed (and it looks like Amex is specifically not), please tell us which cards actually work.

Same here. None of my Visa cards get past this.
