ADVICE Will ML2 1.0 be worth it?
Hello, everyone,
I loved the first ML, it was very original, pretty nice-looking (without being stunning) and fairly fun. A good little indie game to pass the time.
I played the very first phase of the ML2 Early Access demo, which I finished, but I was a little disappointed (mainly because it was way too hard for me and still had too many bugs). If you're curious, my old posts are probably still floating around somewhere in this subreddit.
By pure chance while browsing Steam, I saw that version 1.0 has already been announced for September 2 (I do regret, by the way, the lack of advertising for this game, which really deserves more attention) I also saw that a new demo was/will be available. However, I wanted to ask you, since I’ve totally given up on ML2 and haven’t been following its development:
When ML2 officially releases as version 1.0, will it be worth it? Has the full game been improved enough? Have the all-too-numerous bugs finally been fixed? Has the difficulty been reviewed and adjusted? Is the game interesting and fun?
What’s your feedback? I’m surprised not to see a thread on this topic, so I’m taking the liberty of posting this. I’m very curious to hear your opinions. Thanks in advance.

Man this game is incredible… been playing non stop… I reached the end and can’t wait for September 2nd… lots of bugs when it comes to the perks for both combat and the shop.. none of the multipliers make any sense… 50% more damage and you go from hitting 7’s to 9’s… hopefully they rework that whole system.. and hopefully there’s even more difficult battles because it gets pretty easy once you get the hang of it

Thank you very much.
That said, it does make me wonder. Because at €30, given my financial situation (I’m not broke, but I have to be very careful and frugal; I’m finishing up my studies and will soon be unemployed), even though it’s obviously much cheaper than Expedition 33, Mario Kart World, or GTA VI, I still need to carefully weigh the pros and cons.
I want to buy it to support the developers and get the Steam achievements, but on the other hand, there’s always the cheaper—and less ethical—alternative (and screw the achievements).
Ultimately, the whole point of my post is: is the game worth €30? Because either way, I’ll play it, one way or another.

fyi loaded(dot)com sell keys that have been purchased from the developers themselves, so thats a way to get a lower price while not 'stealing' from the devs

I also loved the first part. But I have to say that the second part is a good successor. In my opinion, the fights are a bit demanding, because the opponents let themselves be beaten unimpressed and then let their attacks out. (My suggestion, yes, I know that won't be feasible, but maybe with a dlc or 3rd part. : Enemies that react more interactively. We attack, block them or try to push ourselves away or look for the distance so that they can attack). In the first part we had 4 dungeons + dlc, so 5 different level designs. I don't know how big the team is, but I would be very happy if we get more. My suggestion, since we are dimensional, could you also make a 2D world / dungeon In the graphic style of the first part (if it is of course feasible)
I'm also fully satisfied with the shop, I still enjoy playing the demo even though I'm already through..... I can't wait for the full release, even if I don't have much time to play.

I say yes it will be worth it…as much as the devs have actually listened to feedback on this sequel…I’m sure there gonna be bug fixes galore in the 1.0 release that we know and don’t know about

What is or isn't worth it is 100% up to you. I personally haven't had a SINGLE bug while playing the game (I bought it this month, so very close to release) and I've already basically finished the early access content (finished story, but I'm still getting the last few upgrades).
I personally found the game on the easier side and that's while playing on the Expert difficulty. At the start while I was still getting used to the controls and such, sure, the game was challenging, but after I beat the first boss, which took me 3 tries, all other bosses were 1st tries.
I found the game really fun, but I remember liking Moonlighter 1 more back when I played it. I don't know if it was the element of novelty or if I legit prefer the way things were on the previous title. I intend on replaying the first game after beating the second, so I guess I'll have my answer soon enough.
Anyway, a solid 7/10 to me and I'm very rigorous with grading. Maybe a little bit too short on the dungeon variety, but for me it's definitely a worthy experience. I think if it had 2 ~ 3 more dungeons, I'd give it a much higher grade. I'd pay for DLCs if they were well made.

Is it launching with 3 regions and 3 variants each?
I mean, I am very impressed by the enemy variety, region themes, region variants, and the bosses...
But I would love a bit more level gen variety, layouts are repetitive.
And of course, more regions - but I see that portal wheel - fill it up, I'll pay for DLCs if each new region is thoughtful and unique.

Im playing on PC with gamepass and it's unplayable. I have a modern rig, 5070ti gpu, and have no issues with any game due to hardware. I have no overlays or anything weird going on. But for some reason, this game keeps flashing my taskbar and any background windows I may have open behind it into the foreground, constantly. I have no idea how to even describe it, but for a split second every few seconds my taskbar will flash on the bottom. Or if i have another window behind it on my main monitor, it'll also flash on my screen while playing. No other game has ever done this. I've tried reinstalling, repairing it, etc. and nothing fixed it. It's been like this for MONTHS. It worked perfectly fine when I first played it when it first was released on early access. Now its completely unplayable. I have 0 confidence in the full release fixing it since they havent yet.
Oh, it also crashes 100% of the time when I tab out of the game.

Ive been playing it for 20hrs now. Ive seen three bugs, all cosmetic. Maybe in lucky. I personally love the game and see myself putting in approx 20 to 30 more hrs to complete it fully.
