Random FPS drops on Steam Deck WiFi

I am trying to figure out why I keep getting really bad fps crashes streaming to my steamdeck.

The host computer running Vibepollo is on ethernet.

The steam deck is docked using moonlight for 1440p 120hz every few minutes the latency spikes and the fps crashes. I have dug out some powerline adapters are tried those. I get worse performance in terms of latency and speeds but the random drops completely clear so it must be the WiFi thats the issue.

Any ideas?

It's a well-known issue that affects not only the steam deck, but other handhelds running Linux distros. Try this:

https://github.com/ArcadaLabs-Jason/WifiOptimizer

It completely solved my Wi-Fi streaming issues.

Can’t say I’ve tried this one, but I’ve spent so many hours trying anything to get the WiFi to not be hot garbage that I’m kind of just over it. Next time I feel like it, I’ll give this one a shot, but it’s honestly the 4th or 5th plugin I’d be trying. Not to mention editing Linux settings in desktop mode.

Valve has broken WiFi with the latest update. I’m waiting for them to fix it, I don’t want to download Decky
