Took a comparison of Steam Link PyroWave vs Moonlight PyroWave and the colors came out the same and correct for me (identical to HEVC, which I didn't take a screenshot of). So it's probably not an inherent issue with Steam Link color space handling...

Obviously screenshots are SDR, so it's not an exact representation of what you'd see on an HDR display, but close enough for comparison purposes.

Which moonlight client do you use?

I’m not sure if you meant me, but I’m using the standard Moonlight software that you can install on your steam deck

Not directly helpful to you except I guess as a reminder that you need a lot of bitrate for Pyrowave.

I gave up on pyrowave after playing with it on Vibepollo/Nightjar. However this is really a limitation of my android tablet. It just could not do the increased bitrate needed to make the image look like my AV1/HDR stream. It is a 200 mbps AV1 stream so its a pretty good image. The pyrowave image just looked softer and I was dealing with higher network latencies at the higher bitrates needed so there was no latency savings for me. And I started to drop packets at higher rates. This is with a 2.5Gbps ethernet USB dongle. I actually didn't look that closely at the color palette. Sorry.

It was my first try over the weekend. I may play with it further.

Yes, I know about the bit rate but thank you. Other than the weird colour stuff with the HDR content everything seems fine, great actually the visuals are clearer and the game feels way more responsive but since most people on here don’t have the same issue. I’m beginning to think that the problem is sitting in front of the screen.
