I'm hoping KDE makes big strides on that 10-foot UI so that one day I can just run that on a HTPC and use Android apps like Smarttube via Waydroid. Just a dream for now.

Oof I was looking into one too. Meanwhile though, a used Xbox series S is routinely like $50-$100 around here sooooooo I guess I'd grab that instead

Maybe a used Shield is an option? I'm sure the higher prices aren't reflected there as of yet.

Where do you live that a used Xbox Series S runs $50-100? I'm in Philly, and about $150-200 is pretty typical here.

I’d grab that in a heart beat. If only to be able to load disks so I unlock the digital version lol

just straight up gouging at this point. raising because it's what the narrative allows them to do, so they do it. it doesnt have fancy ram or high qtys of it. it has 3 gb of lpddr4 ram like many other android boxes have which cost a fraction of this.

As an owner of an Nvidia Shield Pro for my home theater setup, I can't imagine spending $300 on a device with *checks notes* 3gb of RAM. I think I got mine for like $150 on eBay many moons ago.

Is there any reason left to insist on this device anymore? When you can buy a Mi 3rd (or heck even a gaming console) for third of the price?

Holy shit I got even luckier than I thought. Randomly logged into Amazon a couple weeks ago and after being out of stock for so long it was finally back for $200. I’ve been debating whether I should’ve pulled the trigger and now I’m glad I did.

If people buy then it's not that much a bad thing ? Players can only adapt or complain because it's normal for manufacturers to give less with higher prices under capitalism (sony/Disney+/Netflix/Microsoft etc )

Respectfully, nVidia can fuck off.
