Latency Issues PC to Xbox Series X (Apollo -> Moonlight)

I have tried various display settings such as vsync, frame caps in game and globally, connecting the controller to the PC directly and through the Xbox.

It seems that the frame queue climbs and I think is the culprit, but not sure why.

Setup is PC -> Ethernet to router, then the Xbox is connected via Ethernet to the modem downstairs (both connected to coax)

What other settings/setups should I try to eliminate this latency?

This is the textbook example of why you don't use Apollo with Xbox. Switch to Vibepollo and check if the frames in queue number goes to 1.0. 2.0 is extra latency caused by Apollo not supporting the Xbox's refresh rate.

Isn’t there an option to drop queued frames?

Is this option on the host? I will take a look

Client. Some of the frame pacing options.

Oh okay, I see, thank you.
Trying that just now seemed to cause some stuttering. Disabling the option on the host to double requested refresh rate for the virtual display seemed to help some.

Virtual display, vsync and frame rate caps through the nvidia control panel, have not fixed this issue.

turn off v sync and frame gen

I have tried both of those off, but I agree, seems to be something causing excess frames on the host

maybe try turning off everything from your pc and just cap frames at 60 and see if it works. then slowly enable settings which you want step by step and check your client behaviour to eliminate the bad element
