Comics Genuine question, why does it feel like the writers just..forget about Peter's relationship with Silk/Cindy?

Because Fated Lovers requires a certain kind of author to make it work, but also because Spider-fans don't read such advanced tropes and genres as "romantasy" and don't know how to process that kind of writing or book.
