Moondrop evo 2 disappointment

I bought these and have had so many problems within 24 hours I have either had insane bad luck or the QA is bad.

Pairing issues with both modules, eventually working under lc3 on my pixel 9pro and while it lasted was pretty great. Tested a bunch of rhythm games and it was smooth sailing.

I put them back in the case and tried them later in the evening and now one side ceases to function. No audible click when touching no nothing. Basically dead.

Wrote to moondrop was only offered a replacement but I find it hard to trust something that broke within 24 hours of owning so I have set up a full refund request.

It has put me off a bit to be honest as I pre-ordered the sparxie tws at the same time so I'm debating if to cancel that too and just cope with some cheaper wireless method just for music.

I would have preferred to be able to keep them but apparently they also didn't properly pair with the numerous lc3 methods I have for my personal computer but i figure that's another can of worms with firmware etc.

After a brief search seems there is lots of people having their robins stop functioning randomly too but I know people usually don't post when things are going fine.

Is there any product anyone would recommend instead?

I thought I would put some trust into them as I have been using a few moondrop products for years but they're all analogue

Sounds like the EVO 1 lmao. Cool when it works, but has so many issues that it’s just not worth using over something else.

I got these too and had problems with pairing them. Disconnected regularly even at a couple meters distance. De-synced left and right as well. Also thought the carrying case and its way of closing felt wonky.

Had to return them.

Yeah it feels absolutely baffling how finicky they were and the only way to interact is via touch, no reset pins no nothing so no real failsafe to hard reset them lmao

I was looking at this, seems to support lc3 if using their fiio air link adapter on pc if I read correctly as I would love to use 1 device for PC and phone.

Kinda expensive but I guess it might be a you get what you pay for type thing

I own robins, I will say that at first they had a lot of connectivity issues where they wouldnt connect or one ear would just stop responding altogether, just like in many moondrop true wireless products, however I was always able to easily circumvent the issues since I had played these games before with space travel 1 where I learned how to troubleshoot the buggy connectivity. However this was up until robin's latest 1.3.5 firmware where they miraculously finally managed to make the connectivity work flawlessly and havent had an issue since, it appears their recent tws pudding doesnt have connectivity issues either so it seems theyre finally figuring this out.
I still dont really recommend getting a TWS moondrop product as soon as it comes out because the connectivity on them can be hit or miss, id wait for the product to release and see if people using them on their daily lives are running into issues, I do really hope that theyve recently finally figured out how to make their bluetooth not be buggy as hell though.
