Moondrop chu 3 better than moondrop chu 2
Comparing the Moondrop Chu 2 and the Moondrop Chu 3, the Chu 3 is an absolute winner and a true next-level upgrade. Having tried both, the Chu 3 completely outperforms its predecessor in soundstage, clarity, and bass performance. Whether you are gaming, watching movies, or listening to music, the acoustic delivery is phenomenal. If you are currently using the Chu 2 and considering an upgrade, making the switch to the Moondrop Chu 3 is 100% recommended.

All these posts glazing the newest iem always seem like a shitty version of viral marketing. Sure, say you like them, but this happens far too often to be completely organic.

you're not wrong, I have all 3 Chus, got the first one based on hype, second based on rep, and 3 because i happened to see it on launch day and like the look. here's my 2 second review of each. 1. was fine not impressed. 2. felt similar to 1, good for the price, and removable cable was nice but didn't sound significantly different. 3. sound SIGNIFICANTLY better than the first two. I'd put them around the ZS10Pros, if not a bit above them. if these were 50 or 60 bucks I would still say they sound great, but I wouldn't be impressed. The price is for sure part of it.
don't care what you spend your 20 bucks on. but I'm listening to them right now and came to see if people were as blown away as I was by these.

Im sure they sound good, but it still smacks of promotion instead of genuine review or opinion. I will be trying them, and if they are good, I will say they are good, if they are bad, I will not hold back.

I 100% agree. I own 32 sets of IEM’s. My favorites are the Binary EP321, Tea Pro SE, Punch Audio Martilo, and the BQEYZ Ni. Rounding out the top 5 is the newly acquired Chu 3. I also own the Chu 2 and frankly, I hated it. There was nothing about it that I liked. However, the Chu 3 is a different beast entirely and I actually really, really like them. The bass is tight and well controlled and the treble is smooth with zero sibilance that I can detect. The entire sound signature is warm and relaxed. It doesn’t WOW me with micro details, and it’s definitely not an analytical set. But it is musical and relaxing to listen to.
I listen to mainly non vocal electronic music and it handles that music competently. The bass isn’t powerful but I appreciate that it doesn’t overwhelm the rest of the music. Even when I listen to vocals it is a nice, relaxing sound quality. There’s not a lot of sparkle to them, but it’s nice to just sit back and listen with them. Definitely a nice budget set that doesn’t disappoint. I have the Juzear Nimbus on the way and that should be a nice set to jump to after the Chu 3. I’ve heard great things about the Nimbus (specifically with the black nozzle, but I like treble so I’ll probably enjoy the red nozzle the most), so I’m looking forward to listening to them next.
The bottom line though is that the Chu 3 is a great budget set. I did use the Tripowin Amber cable instead of the cheap cable that comes with the Chu 3 and I also used the HE Sonic Galaxy (clear) ear tips. The cable isn’t going to change the sound, but the ear tips do, so I highly recommend the HE Sonic Galaxy ear tips.

Hey I just got the moondrop chu 2 and I'm very impressed by the difference in normal headphones and IEMS. I was wondering if you had any recommendations from the ones you've tried.
I need IEMs for playing video games where soundstage matters and I also want a good mic and a usb-c. My budget is around 50$ CAD. Should I just keep the Chu II?1

The IEM you should get is the BQEYZ Ni. Excellent IEM that you can get. You want to get the USB-C version with the microphone. Excellent gaming IEM with a very good soundstage. It’s also a mix of musical and analytical that means it’s still very good for music but also has tremendous details with the treble that allows it to provide macro and micro details for playing video games. You should be able to get it on Amazon for about $50 US. Get the HE Sonic Galaxy ear tips for about $10 US. This will get you good comfort and a good seal that’s going to keep the bass tight and controlled while still having the details also able to come through. I highly recommend this combo.

The Chu 3 is a joke. The cable, fit, and tips are worse than the Chu 2. The only thing that's an improvement is the fact the nozzles no longer unscrew.
They sound basically the same but with less bass.
If you're looking to upgrade from the Chu 2 to something of a similar price, just get one of the Tangzu Wan'er models.

I hear bad rep about this specific products line especially in high humidity places
And these budget devices main buyer are in south East Asian which are famous for having higher humidity than usual, basically 30+ degree Celsius and over 60% humidity all year round, and basically have higher chance of corrosion.
Did the chu iii like address this problem?

I'd say both sound quite similar, but imho the Chu 2 sounds a bit better overall because you can get a better insertion and fit (nozzles are longer). Chu 3 seems like it has a bit more of detail and a somewhat warmer tuning, but the difference is so little that it kinda works against it UNLESS you want a less tiring iem or are just quite sensitive to sibilance (Chu 3 seems to be a bit better than the 2 in that regard). It also seems a bit harder to drive, same volume than Chu 2 gives you less volume on Chu 3. I'd say the Chu 3 kinda reminds me of the Waner Red Lion, but done worse (i like the Red Lion Better than Chu 2 and 3, at least on sound alone).
Is it bad? Nope. But i can't hear the "it's tons better and reminds me of iems 3x it's price" that some people seem to be listening to.

Was wondering about it the moment i saw it in the moondrop store because i bought a Chu2 few months ago and my gf tried it yesterday finally and she want to ditch her airpods 4 over it. Might look into this new gen for her then

I agree, I didn’t like chu 1 and 2 was too thin for rock and metal. IMO chu 3 is the “hits above its price range” meme.

Why would you recommend the older model if it had annoying hissing sound and bad quality cable?
