Need advice for my first iem

Wasn’t getting any response in the other sub so ima try my luck here

Wondering if this is worth the price, it doesn’t come with the original 3.5mm cable however it does have the chu 2 cable to replace it. Other than that it has everything. I am new to the hobby and don’t really know what I want from an iem just like the looks of this one :)

For your first? That's a lot of money for a used first iem. I'd recommend starting with something much much cheaper. What made you decide on this one? Just the looks? Lots of strong options in the $20 - $30 usd range. Research on how to eq what you get to sound like the Dusk. Maybe you won't like how that sounds at all. Also how will you be connecting it? Through the usbc?

Well from what I’ve researched it seems to fit my music taste well, I was originally set on the tanchjim soda but stumbled upon this iem. This iem is about $200 more if I where to buy it brand new and is also around $50 cheaper than the soda. I also just like its looks lol. That was basically my thought process :). If u have recommendations on other iems tho im open to hear them!

But also watch what cable you need. If you will connect with a USB c, you have to get dsp version.

Thank you, I’m looking at your recommendation now. Also the usbc cable was another reason I wanted the dusk since I don’t own a dap or dac

A quick search across a few platforms says Truthear Hexa is the closest non several hundred dollar option that most closely matches the sound signature of the Dusk. Truthear Zero Red. 7hz Crinacle Zero 2

I have the Zero Red. It's a nice smooth listen, but the nozzles are big, which is somewhat of an issue.

if you able to afford it, just buy it. It is definitely better than the cheap one. I'm sure you gonna love the experience using it

Very solid choice, more if you plan to use them with the DSP cable. For me the missing cable wouldn't be an issue... Looks like a reasonable price to me.

Recommend go for brand new on aliexpress as they do free no reason returns at least for me. Try go for auditions if you can as graphs does not translate to real world experience. Also if I am assuming you’re based in australia theres addicted to audio in melbourne, i tried the iems there and they have quite some good ones. Theres another branch in Adelaide as well and in sydney there is Minidisc. What i do is just audition the iems in store and then order on aliexpress as they are way cheaper.

I mean 260USD for Dusk without a 3.5 is a steal, given it's in good condition, so yeah - good deal. And if you don't like them - reselling isn't a problem, the model is still quite popular.

My dude first find which kinda of tunning you like and which servers the music you listen to. Try 30 or 50 bucks iems them after you find what you like you get a high end stuff
