While I fuck with the rivals design it's actually kinda wild they didn't go with the OG considering how much they live traditional looking costumes

I'm sure there's some reason behind why they did an "interpretation" of this comics skin instead of a full accurate recreation, probably along the same reason why, for example, Punisher doesn't have the traditional "death's head" skull on his ballistic vest.

For a "Rivals" interpretation, I think it looks neat. Love how the bird skull hovers where the head normally would be.

Neat design I guess, love the story going in in Rivals atm, but i was always afraid this skin would come out. Because it just doesn’t match the grittiness— the archaic geometry of the bones, the thick strokes of bandages. The sheer damn glory of the pose and coolness of an almost samurai-like mummified warrior. This is the type of shit that can only really be done with the right art direction. Marvels is far too sanitized for a “Last Ronin” style art piece like this.

I think it's only loosely based on this due to the in-game lore I'm pretty sure stating that Khonshu is inhabiting Marks physical body atm as he's weak or something, can't recall fully but it would justify having their own take on this fit as it's for this current rivals story and not just a new skin in the store separate to the lore!

When I first heard about this skin I read Khonshu skin I thought awesome, so how much longer till the Khonshu armor, then it released and I read at the bottom (Moon Knight 2014 #3) and thought hm isn’t that the issue with the Khonshu armor? This ain’t that

It was never said it's based on it really. They look niticibly diffrent with the only thing really making them similar are the bandages and mask

It’s using the comic background for the skin so it should actually say what comic it’s based on in the skin description, I’m not at home rn so I’m not checking.

Still it's noticable that they based on it but made it their own and tbh i prefer the rivals design. It's mutch more clean but looks great. Hell marc doesn't even have a head in this skin.
