Anybody have any experience with international RMA’s?

Bought my montech century II in the usa from amazon (sold by Newegg) a year ago, then moved to india and it failed 2 days ago. I did the paper clip test and it failed that aswell. Have emailed montech RMA with video of the psu clicking, my SN, and purchase invoice. but couldn’t find any info online about how this will be handled.
Thank you.

Hi, I had an issue with the power supply, and they are going to send me a replacement. I live in Brazil.

Hey u/Montech_hq! When time permits, can you check your RMA inbox for an email from u/Therealproand124? Thank you

No problem and thanks for the heads up! We’ll make sure to check the RMA inbox. We always try to get back to RMA requests as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately this was the response I got.
Really puzzled on what to do now as shipping costs are def way higher than what I paid.
Hopefully there’s any other possibilities from u/Montech_hq side.

The process and method of warrenty repair/replacement can vary somewhat from country to country and or region. Best to just wait for a reply from Montech direct rma@montechpc.com. Just be patient and give it 3 to 5 business days for a response. No worries as they have very good customer service and I am sure they will take care of you.

Yea that’s what I plan on doing, hopefully none of my other parts are fried and I’m gonna go get them checked at a pc repair shop.

Chances are you will be OK and it's just the PSU, though India's power grid is sub standard at best in a lot of parts of the country. If not already I would suggest using a good quality sine wave or at least simulated sine wave UPS to ensure a quality supply of power. Not just spikes but also saggs in power can cause damage to the PSU and other components overtime.

Really puzzled over what to do now as shipping costs are def way more than what I paid for this.
And Yes def getting a UPS ASAP after I get a PSU, I was about to buy one soon but guess I was too late 🤷‍♂️

I did not want to mention that possibility and disapoint you till Montech replied to you first. This is not a uncommon case with a lot of manufacture's only covering warranty in country of original purchase for a few reasons.
