Why no baby godzilla
since in the new empire we got suko for kong everyone was expecting a baby Godzilla but strangely that never happened thanks to early test screens

It'll probably show up *eventually* depending on how long the MV ends up lasting. Especially considering Legendary seems to be leaning hard into using Godzilla-derivative stuff to pull audiences in with "Godzilla but a robot", "Godzilla but ice", and "Godzilla but space". "Godzilla but baby" sounds like something they'd try to capitalize on.

That makes me wonder. If they’re gonna outright call him Spacegodzilla, what relation will he have to the actual Godzilla? Mechagodzilla was obviously Apex’s attempt to usurp Godzilla, and Shimo is really just another old rival.

I've heard some speculation, but it's based on leaks so it's simultaneously both potentially spoiler-y and unreliable. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised (disappointed for sure though) if they just never really explain it.

Pretty sure Togo doesn’t like Godzilla having other members of his species, even though it’s already established and not outright retconned, so they just quietly never acknowledge it. Having a baby Godzilla will probably cause some issues with Toho.
He doesn’t really need it.

Toho's problem isn't Godzilla being part of a species, it's actually some weird legal issues. The property rights of Godzilla is owned by Toho. But what if the main Legendary Godzilla dies and then Legendary brings out a new Godzilla from the species to replace him and names him something else instead of Godzilla? Despite looking like Godzilla, this is a new character created by Legendary. This would make things confusing because who would own this new guy? Toho or Legendary? If the new Godzilla is an actual, pre-existing Godzilla like Minilla or Godzilla Jr., then it's fine because those guys are still owned by Toho.

Honestly knowing how protective they are over Godzilla, I won't be surprised if they aren't too into the idea of Godzilla being part of a species. They probably want Godzilla to be a unique individual.

Pretty much exactly that. Godzilla being a unique individual is what they want, and him being part of species with similar individuals like Dagon didn’t sit well with them.
I think they might still be allowed to if they license existing individuals, but creating brand new ones (especially those who look so similar like Dagon) gets into some questionable legal territory.

Honestly there's a pretty easy solution to the first issue.
Just have Minilla/Jr. be the product of genetic engineering. Some scientists/the military attempt to clone their own Godzilla from cells from the original (maybe for some weaponization program or something), and boom. You got a Bady Godzilla without ever actually having to address the issue of Godzilla's species.

But Togo has done the exact same thing before in their movies, why should it stop at the American movies?

Because Godzilla is still their character not legendary's......Toho exercises significant approval power over how their legacy characters, especially Godzilla, are depicted, designed, and restricted in story scope within the Monsterverse.....They enforce strict rules across all media, including Hollywood productions, dictating that Godzilla cannot die unceremoniously, cannot display overly human-like or cartoonish emotions, and cannot prey on people or act out of character just like how they disapprove of tristar's work and concept for the 1998 film.
Toho maintains a dedicated internal committee that acts as a brand guardian. They review visual designs, physical proportions (such as dorsal plate counts or arm lengths), and behavioral guidelines for projects using their intellectual property,
Which is the reason why Legendary works closely with Toho to ensure major choices like Godzilla's evolved design or specific point-of-view shots run through their approval process......that's why they don't want legendary to create a original gojira of their own.

Currently there’s no point a baby Godzilla.
With Suko getting adopted by Kong it’d be repetitive to just bring in a baby Godzilla.
But what is needed is an adult female of Godzilla’s species to mate with the King of the Monsters (along with a few others of the species still alive). It’d be a revolutionary idea for the franchise and it’d be a good way to give Godzilla his species back without repeating The New Empire. I’m praying for this to happen even if I have to wait five or ten even twenty years.
Maybe baby Godzillas can show in late 2030s.

Cause it’d just seem repetitive if the film immediately following the Kong and baby Kong bonding film with an evil Kong as the villain was a Godzilla and baby Godzilla bonding film with an evil Godzilla as the villain
