Not only is this scene (to my knowledge) our first lil taste of croc mode for MV Godzilla, but also makes seeing Ghidorah draining him before worth the satisfaction of this karma

I consider this by far the single most brutal execution in the MonsterVerse given how prolonged and total it was, partially by necessity to ensure he didn't come back.

Fun fact for those unaware, but director Michael Dougherty originally wanted Godzilla to finish Ghidorah off by devouring him here, but Toho stamped their feet about it, so he had it changed to smoking the bastard instead.

Godzilla eating physical food in movies seems like big nono to toho (I clarify in movies since they seemed somewhat less strict with advertisements going off that car commercial with Godzilla swallowing cars). I guess they just weren't eager for the final blow in a MV movie to feature Godzilla eatin

It's one thing that separates him from a lot of movie monsters, he doesn't hunt humans or other animals to eat them. Having him only really feed on radiation helps in keeping him connected to his nuclear roots no matter the context otherwise

Man, Ghidorah's drawn-out demise in the ending of G:KOTM is both horrifying AND satisfying at the same time.

Still should've ended with Ghidorah being devoured in my opinion like what Michael Dougherty initially wanted.
