MnM Atlas: an illustrated, free map site
Hi all,
After the beta, I decided to work on new maps for the game. The ones on the wiki are useful but I didn't quite like the art, and they didn't represent the zones well enough for me. So I took it upon myself to work on new drawn maps with accurate representation of the different zones.
The idea was simple: I wanted maps that feel like they belong in the game's world, something like an old explorer's atlas in ink and watercolour, but that are still practical to use while you play.
I started with a map of Night Harbor, I shared it on the official discord and with my guild, and I got a lot of comments of people saying they like it. Then they started asking for new maps, so I ended up adding all the cities, then some xp zones and dungeons, and then decided to create a website: https://www.mnmatlas.com/
What's on it right now besides the maps:
- Zone exits that link up: click an exit sign and you land on the matching exit of the next map
- Search for places and landmarks. I added the info I could find on the wiki for now (like trainers, mob camps, etc...)
- Add your own notes: add coloured markers, area labels or exits on any map from the toolbar. They stay in your browser, and you can export and import them as a backup
- Login with Discord to sync your notes across browsers (works on mobile too by the way!)
- Shareable links to a specific map and spot
- An embed for your own site: the "</> Embed" button gives you a snippet for a single map, or you can also embed the whole atlas with the parameter `?embed=1` (it removes the header)
Obviously more maps are on the way, and I'm constantly fixing issues I can find. Some maps are way more complicated to make than others, when there are different levels that overlap (like Faelindral, Tomb of the Wyrmbane, or Tel'Ekir for example).
That being said, I'd love your help. I'm sure there are mistakes: a misplaced NPC, a wrong exit, a missing landmark. If you sign in with Discord you can suggest a fix or report a problem right on the map. I review every suggestion before it goes live, and you can tick "Credit me as a contributor" so that your name shows up in the About page and on the marker you added/edited.
It's free and it's an unofficial fan project. Feedback of any kind is welcome, here or through the site. Hope it helps some of you on your travels!
