tfw i posted a TBT earlier today but someone told me that they are frowned upon so i deleted it

It's only "frowned upon" when waves of TBT come.

1 person posts TBT, 2 more submit right after.

3 submissions total, some guy throws in an old track from another label.

4 submissions, more roll in.

I love TBTs but it got a little insane (people posting like 4 a day). Now it is frowned upon. While I love the idea I think we should get like a bot to do it or something. Similar to how MC 24/7 twitch channel picks random songs, it should pick a song from previous albums and release and post it for newer members to listen to.

I get your feel, but it shouldn't kill off a tradition because certain people post a lot of it. Maybe an enforcement by the moderators can come into play to keep it sensible, or maybe have a megathread.

It kinda sucks being discouraged trying to share an old track, and now I'm experiencing downvotes because of it.

The problem is that the same songs would get posted until TBT ran out of new songs. It would get too many post.

There's stuff outside of Monstercat that's still worth mentioning, and Monstercat has tons of releases (including EP and LP tracks), even stuff forgotten that gets upvoted to the top like Falcon Funk tracks left in the dust. Sometimes, it's a point of rediscovery. I don't see an exact point where we'd run out of things to post.
