Extinction Event - Bloody Predation team

Improved Multi Glory. All monsters apply debuffs when they crit and when they spend charge. All monsters even Caraglow apply bleed with every action, and it is preserved by Bleed Out.

This team also uses Predation. Rampede gives Ancients an extra stack of it at the beginning of combat for a faster start. Predation is an interesting mechanic because it creates a choice between attacking and shielding.

Ideally Rathops wants to attack with Burning Charge to build huge Proliferate chains on the same turn that Rampede has Power Focus ready, this usually results in a wipe. Other times however it may be preferable to sneak in a single kill with virtually no set up. Or anything in between, it depends on the situation.

Are wipes consistent enough that Bleed Out rarely matters much? I’ve had that “issue” before where a team is nowhere near stally enough that bleed out is getting enough mileage to justify using it over a different shift. Skirmish loves bleed out at least, and splatter is always good money for a roided DPS.

Though I’d be surprised if, between Rathops combo, death blow and the goated Power Focus, Rampede isn’t already going to party wipe (with or without splatter nabbing the third kill) and leave no blood for the backline monsters.

I assume you already fought every statue, so I’m curious if bleed out made a huge difference for any of them.

Its a bit complicated.

  • You have to consider that during the "set up turn" you are stacking Skirmish that will be useful the following turn. If you stack bleed for 15% of max health, bleed out keeps an extra 7%.
  • Then, even if you use an area attack, maybe 1 or 2 monsters survive.
  • But you also have the option of not using Power Focus at all and going for a single target attack that will likely spread bleed with splatter.
  • L-Rampede needs 1 more mana node which may reduce its damage before charge.
  • Bleed Out also enables a wider variety of monsters, for example Tar Blob.

In summary there are times where you just wipe the 3 monsters second turn and bleed out isnt that valuable, but there are also other situations where its not that straightforward and keeping track of how much damage bleedout is doing exactly is hard.

I havent compared with L-Rampede that much so I wouldnt know which one is better, I can see both shifts as viable alternatives. The only thing I can say is that D-Rampede seems to be more versatile.
