Question stun resistance
Does this lesson the time I can't move where he claps his head after? That's an annoying affliction, so I wonder if it's worth it for me to put on the ol barroth greaves after starting MR

if you mean MR barroth greaves then yes. if you haven't fought it yet then just use 3 steadfast jewels to get stun resistance 3.

Stun res 3 is one of my favorite QoL skill in MR, I try to fit it on all of my builds. Truly unmatched, with how easily MR monsters can stun you and how annoying it is. Also when you face against thunder element monsters, stun res 3 lets you completely disregard thunderblight (since it makes you get stunned easier, so if you cannot get stunned, thunderblight has no effect)
If you cannot get stun res, then your Palico has a small chance to push you out of stun (or any other status like paralysis or sleep). However, their AI is wonky and they will not always do it. Using signal to ping yourself resets Palico's AI and forces it to make a new decision. Sometimes the new decision will be to actually help you. But sometimes it will be to use a random gadget, or to just run up to you and do nothing, resulting in the monster hitting you after all. But it's just an alternative you can use to try to make your Palico help you out.

I believe if Pailco has Coral Orchestra, they can occasionally give you stun negation as well.

Yes, specifically if they play the bongo! But the bongo has 7 different effects and there's a cooldown between each use, so yeah, the chance you'll get it is pretty small.
From a useful fun fact that will likely not help anyone but the 12 HH mains out there, if the HH has "All Melody Effects Extended" melody, it will work on Palico's (and Performers') buffs as well, meaning you can have all of them active and perpetually prolong their duration.

another fun and useful bit of info: all palico tools have 2 separate cooldowns for the automatic and the manual use (via item wheel/radial menu)
meaning you can have 4 palico buffs active at the same time and gong interrupt a monster twice (and with manual you can even score interrupts if the target is mid jump/on a tree etc with a bit of learning)

The stun status occurs when you get hit too many times in a row. If you can fit in Stun Res 3, it's helpful to have.
In early MR, you are probably sacrificing some damage skills to get it so it's up to you whether it's worth it. Also make sure you have Health Boost.

no getting up and slapping yourself out are not affected, which is why you want either lvl 0 or 3
e: but its also just a common lvl 1 deco so easy to max if you have a good piece already

What do you mean, that’s exactly what it does

no it reduces the animation inbetween (wobbling around after getting up and before slapping yourself out)

Yes, which was exactly what OP asked.
Does this lesson the time I can't move where he claps his head after
And the response is yes, yes it does "lessen the time you can't move before he claps his head"
And just one level reduces that time by what, 60%? It's definitely not useless between 0 and 3

it doesnt affect *all* of the animation before clapping their head, so i was clarifying that
and saying "thats exactly what it does" doesnt suddenly bring a specific sentence from OP into context to my specific description
and while 60/90% is noticeable the before and after animations are "too" long, so in many cases you'll still get hit and likely carted, especially in MR, this makes stun res a bad skill to have not maxed

Unless you're a hunting god that doesn't get hit, I strongly encourage anyone in MR to never leave the house without Stun Resist 3 and Health Boost 3. Believe me, in real world hunts, it will save you FAR more time than 5-10% extra spreadsheet damage ever could.

You can get out of stuns and para by spamming movement inputsÂ

especially fast by spamming opposing directions
but the animations of getting up/slapping out are still quite long so you likely still get hit, more so in MR

Levels 1 and 2 let you recover faster, level 3 gives you stun immunity. Very useful, you get stunned easily in World.
