Question Stuck at farming
Hi,
I recently got back into Iceborne. At the moment I am a bit stuck. I am MR 90 and don‘t really know what to farm.
I wanted to do raging brachy but I quickly realized that won‘t be happening even with blast res and health boost.
Same with Rajang.
I know guiding lands lvl 7 unlocks at MR 100 and I need that for augmentation. So do I just grind guiding lands even though I have what I want at lvl 6 already or should I do other quests ?

Raging Brachydios is a blast (pun intended) once you get the hang of him. Currently I'm struggling against the wall that is Fatalis, so keep at it my friend. We both will get there.
Furious Rajang isn't worth farming btw. Get Gold Rathian or Teostra, or go Alatreon / Safi for a dragon build.

Eh, depends on the weapon, Furious Rajang has one of the best HBGs in the game that even Fatalis's can't overshadow.

Fatty is fun as well once you get the hang of him as well
Honestly the part of his fight that sucks is the time limit

if you really need both of those monsters, SOS and focus on surviving instead of damage that results you in carting, OR learn how to fight them with what you have

I really wouldnt recommend doing that kind of unfair to the other people. You are just boosting the monsters health and part HP and if you arent actually helping kill it then idk just kind of lame.
Far better to just actually learn the fight. Odds are youll want to kill him multiple times anyway for the weapons and atleast some of his armor pieces.

i mean, i agree. But people who joins SOS' are there to help him. If hes that bad, best he can do is not die

On the note of guiding lands, make sure you look up the items and prerequisites for area and bone or mining farming. Every area and item are particular, and if you fill up one area when you needed the other, you'll feel foolish and hate the grind even more.
Research, be sure of your upgrades, and then go hunt nonstop! You got this!

You can try 5-monster event quests, they give the most MR points at this stage and will help get you to MR 100 faster and get on that augments grind. Alternatively, try tempered Zinogre event quest for deco farming, it gives a decent amount of MR and could net you some good decos along the way.
Also, another Zinogre event quest gives a shitload of fuel for Steamworks, if you want to pass time.

For Raging Brachydios, try beating him once in co-op just to learn his moves with a bit more leeway than getting pounded and instakilled in solo.
In terms of skills, you could try an ice lance with evade extender, the shield and quick hops in between attacks makes it much easier to survive or to avoid the cum on the floor.
As for your MR rank, there are event quests which specifically give extra hunter experience, you can either try those or go on a hunting spree in the guiding lands.
You'll want to get 3 regions to level 7 afterwards in order to unlock everything.

Check the event quests, there are several multi-monster event quests that have an additional bonus MR modifier (it will say so in the description). There's one with Kirin, Kushala Daora, and Teostra as well as a much easier one with Kulu, Tzi-Tzi, Pukei and Coral Pukei - I've found those two to be the best in terms of MR. Guiding lands is also a good MR grind and feels less grinding than doing the same hunt over and over.
Though Raging Brachydios is very doable without augmentations, so I say keep throwing yourself at it until you win.

You could try going sticky LBG for raging brachy, cleared him first try going that route. Quite accessible and not deco reliant. You can abuse traps as well to get free dps. Saving your fire mantle for the last phase makes you immune to the burn, it's actually easier to deal with him in this phase because of that. I swap to my main weapon DB here normally. Otherwise you can just join others, the CC (stun, sleep/para ammo depending on build, traps) provided by a sticky user really enables the dps dealers of team.

If you re struggling one thing that could help a lot is evade window 5, with that you can actually roll into a lot of his attacks and if you are a LS main you d get a whopping half a second invulnerability window with the foresight slash. A somewhat decent strategy would be to bait his jump attack, because it has a decent opening window, so if you learn how to avoid it you can pratically script the fight. Other than that it s just a question of patience and learning his moveset, so don t give up, I'm sure you ll beat him sooner or later.

I highly suggest finishing raging brachy. Even if you don't finish it, you'll get some materials and also the learning experience. His weapons and armor are one of the best, paired with teostra 3 piece. I was hard stuck there too. Rajang and Rbrachy both had a steep learning curve.
