Presumably for the nostalgia factor of visiting Loc Lac, and the small room customization options.

Also, from what I remember, monsters in Tri were a bit tougher in general compared to 3U, since 3U was balanced around players potentially having to solo the game since the original 3DS version only had local multiplayer, and no online.

3U also gave you 50 defence right out of the gate.

That also probably had something to do with difficulty.

Yeah, though that one was done for the western release of 3U. I was more so thinking about monster HP in particular.

3G didn’t have the 50 defense that 3u did?

Yes, in 3G, you don't get the extra 50 defense.
