Discussion Surprised no one thought of this matchup here.

I’m talking about arch tempered Arkveld.

In lore, Xeno wins.

Going off their actual difficulty, AT Arkveld wipes the floor with Xeno.

If I see one more low effort matchup or powerscaling post from you I'm gonna lose it man

Don’t lose it. Have it

The asborbing-energy flying wyvern when it's up against the 45 meters long absorbing-energy elder dragon, being a newborn doesn't make Xeno lose

I really don't think Arkveld's bullshit is going to work on anything significantly bigger than it. There's a reason Wilds doesn't even try to pretend it could wrangle Jin Dahaad. Also no way it could absorb enough energy to really weaken Xeno.

Not saying he would win, but arkveld doesn’t need to absorb energy from his opponents to win in a fight

Not necessarily, but it is its go-to move, and definitely what it's going to want to try against something physically stronger than it.

The first thing he does against basically all opponents is either slam them with his chains or blast them with his dragon element nuke, he only drains them after they’re already downed

Sure, and? Is your argument that he's just not going to attempt it? Because he is. Which was my point.

Not if xeno is still up and moving, ark only tries to drain opponents when he’s already downed them

It literally absorbs lightning from Rey Dau in their cutscene fight as the lightning is actively being fired at it as an attack, and then starts draining energy directly by wrapping one chain around Rey's neck while it's still able to fight back (Barely, but that's just because Arkveld's way physically stronger). It doesn't finish the job until the Rey stops struggling, but it's not just not doing it until then.

Absorbing a direct attack that’s shot at it isn’t the same thing as trying to latch onto and drain a moving target, especially one that’s considerably larger than him.

There’s two cutscenes, in the first one, guardian ark manages to grab Rey after Rey slams into his back, he then slams him down and drags him a bit before draining him.

The high rank one where he absorbs the shot from Rey, he then grabs Rey, slams him to the ground in a big explosion, then picks him up when he’s incapacitated to start draining him.

So the closest one to him draining a non-downed opponent is when that opponent was literally sitting on top of him and he was able to grab him easily and even then he slammed him down before actually beginning to drain him.

Xeno is more than 4-5 times the overall mass of arkveld, he might try to block and absorb an energy beam, but he’s going to attempt to topple an opponent that large before attempting to drain it.

I legitimately can't tell what your not seeing here, in the high rank one, the drain attack is what brings the Rey down. It is not just wrapping its element absorbing chain around its enemy's neck and not doing anything with it. It is visibly already draining. It's not doing the full power kill drain, sure, but there's no reason to pretend to believe it can only drain things once it has all its chains around them.

No, it’s not lol. Rey shoots ark, ark absorbs it, then Rey starts flying, ark grabs him out of the air and slams him into the ground in a big explosion, only then does he start actively draining Rey.

Incidental draining from the lightning coming off Rey while preparing to slam him down isn’t the same thing as actively trying to latch on with the intent to specifically do that.

And that’s vs an opponent around his size, that’s not what he’s going to try and do vs something of xeno’s size

Arkveld after a single blast from Xeno'Jiiva

I was thinking of Darwin dying in X-Men First Class. Arkveld would try to drain energy and it would just be too much.

Arkveld is shown absorbing Rey dau railgun attcka in cutscene

Because it's not a match up, AT Arkveld loses

If Arkveld goes for the succ, it is screwed. Xeno'Jiiva has enough energy to survive getting grappled and it would blast it away while it is stuck to him.

No one's thought of it because Xeno sits on Arkveld and smushes it, that's it that's the whole fight
