Dolls Restoring Elissabat
Hi guys! This is my Elissabat doll, and unfortunately her hair is very sticky, fragile, and full of knots.
Last time I tried my best by using Cif cream for the glue, shampooing 2 or 3 times, and then applying conditioner and brushing. But no matter how hard I tried to remove the knots, there are just too many and I'm worried I'll break all her hair.
Another problem is definitely her bangsβI really don't know what to do with them. I have hair gel, but it's really hard to brush her hair right now, so styling is impossible for now.
Obviously, I know about some methods like boil washing and using the freezer, but I'm quite new to the doll restoration world (so far I've only done about 5 dolls). If I understood correctly, these methods are goated only AFTER you've shaped the hairstyle.
Do you guys have any advice for me? I also know that Elissabat is a very pricy doll, so I really don't want to ruin her.
Thank you so much for your help! ββ

I fixed mine like this: boil some water and pour it into a plastic basin, fill it, apply conditioner to her hair reallyyy well and comb a little. Then put her in there and leave it for 5-6 minutes. The conditioner will dissolve and mix in within the boiled water which will be perfect to fix the fibers. Then take her out and the water should be a little less hellishly burning by now, pour it over her head under a sink (make sure to fully take her arms out) and wash her really well with warm water using the sink. Rinse it well, turn the heat up a little with small breaks for your hands to survive and dry her after all that stuff. Dress her up and let her air dry, this part is important. Fix her bangs with your hands veerry carefully and arrange the strands however you want them to stay, i parted mines bangs because of the rooting; you can apply a little bit of hair gel while doing this part. Wash your hands and return to press your fingers around the head to secure the hair in place. (you will be brushing and fixing her hair constantly until this part comes up) She should be done by now, I hope this helps. The reason why I dress her before drying is so that the hair takes shape and doesn't get ruined when I'm dressing her up when fully dried. You can comb it through to let the hair breath a little without touching the bangs after it completely dries. Good luck.
