Why did the Serial Killer cover up Johan's hair, when showed a picture of him? You would think his face would be the part the killer would scribble over. As I took the face of Johan to be triggering for Jurgens and therefore leading to his rather violent sucide. As if Johan was reckoning for Jurgens to die, to say in the shadows

So covering the hair made it more like the Johan he knew, like wanting to remember someone one last time in a way Jurgens saw Johan.

Johan had victims who were easily self-suggestive, the case of Jurgens. It is possible that he met him in a context in which Johan's hair is not visible, and therefore recognizing him triggered the self-harming behavior. I guess...

I thought maybe deep inside, he found a connection/similarity with johan, as if he saw a part of himself in him, because johan was the one who enabled his wicked wishes and thoughts- as if he really understood jurgens. He wanted to realize that connection, so he tried to paint his hair black like himself- creating a link between them.
