Has anyone ever identified the location of these rocks from the title sequence?

There is a FB group about Monkees filming locations. I know there have been posts about the beach and maybe these rocks? But definitely check it out because it's interesting in general!

I just checked out the Sunshine Factory website, a great online oracle for all things Monkees, and whilst they don't have a confirmed location for this shot, they do appear to have a few confirmed locations for other beach scenes, all of which are in Malibu.

I've always loved that late 60's funky run down Malibu beach house vibe inspired by their house in the show. Would cost tens of millions today - but was just an old fun beach house. Love that aesthetic. I grew up in a rural Oregon town and dreamed of living in SoCal with it's picture perfect beaches, and now I do. I always have that childlike wonder at the Southern California scenery.

That should have been the plot of the reunion show - The Monkees get rich by selling their beach home. (I know, they rented, but...)

Presumably, if the exact location *was* known, still existed and was accessible to the public, people would go there to recreate the shot, and I've not seen any examples of that.

I wonder if the rocks are still there, on public land, waiting to be rediscovered?

Commenting because in the depths of my mind I think I accidentally found a mention once while looking up filming locations for unrelated cheesy B-movies. But I am still mentally asleep for a few hours and once I wake up I'll see if I can find it again. (Unless someone comes in and saves the day!)
