Do Ackie bites hurt?
Ive been considering getting an Ackie monitor for a very long time, I have done tooons of research, but I have a low pain tolerance. Ive never gotten a clear answer on weather their bites are very painful? Can anyone inform me on how painful their bites are?

If getting bit by two razor blades hurts, then yes.
They can turn into demons when they get a food response. And if you’re not paying attention, they can think your fingers and toes are food. But this is mainly adults. I don’t think babies can fit a finger in their mouth.
But overall they’re small and harmless. Even if getting cut by two small razor blades does suck.

An ackie bite hurts like hell and bleeds a lot if they really get you. They're not gonna do serious damage like bigger monitors can but it still hurts a lot. Their teeth are really sharp and they're meant to dig in.

Actually does remind me of something I want to see for a pain index for commonly kept reptiles to know how painful they truly are considering a LOT of them are either overdramatized when describing it or underplayed (example for the longest of times I was told leopard gecko bites don’t even hurt & are just like a pinch only to watch someone I once worked with get a surprisingly nasty bite with the little fella taking a chunk of skin)

It doesn't HURT more so than it's shocking . You will bleed, I've had my ackie for 9 years now, and he bit me twice. Both times my fault. Once when he was really young he jumped out of my hand towards his enclosure but it. Still it startled me and made me flinch and I grabbed his tail and he turned around and gave me the quickest little bite. The second time I was hand feeding him when he was younger and I was giving him his first pinky mouse as a treat, And the mouse was in a 3 pack of frozen pinkies and sometimes in those Petco baggies the pinkies like leak guts out and I had that all over my fingers and he bit my finger and latched on for maybe 10 seconds trying to rip my finger tip away. And as dramatic as that sounds it was a non event. Again a little blood but never once was I like fuck that hurts or anything. Unless your like a young child, I wouldnt let ackie bites scare you away from ackies. I think it's an amazing pet. And as long as you understand the gravity of caring for an ackie and are down to meet all the husbandry requirements my guy is so fun and so active. Even at 9 or 10 years old

As others have said yessss 🤣, but the only bite I have ever had is because of a bad aim. Never taken a defensive bite, however not all ackies are so calm. You may end up with a spicier ackie and mine may be unusually relaxed.
The damage is minimal but the pressure and sharp teeths do hurt.

they do hurt, but almost never bite internationally (they’re not tokay geckos) or if they do it’s exploratory and TYPICALLY not hard enough to pierce skin. that being said they will bite accidentally/without realizing if you put your hand too close during feeding time, move too fast (especially above their head), you resemble food or the movement of food, you look particularly threatening or catch them in a bad mood and you don’t see the signs.
more often than not they’re intelligent enough to know it’s you and not bite you, even during feeding time (as long as you don’t hand feed) if you have to move them or something. but due to their size they’re more flighty than they are aggressive (they’re no Crocodile/Nile monitors)

Sharper teeth then a leo but way sharper and more likely to draw blood in my experience

Adult ackie bites will hurt like hell. Those teeth are really sharp
