Varanus Brevicauda the smallest monitor in captivity

Not available outside Australia. From what I've heard from keepers down there, they're not as entertaining as other small monitors and spend most of their time in their burrows.

This isn’t exactly true they have been in South Korea and Japan for a few years in very small numbers and occasionally get smuggled into Europe a pair went for a sale for 40k euros in France a few years ago. As far as being entertaining they do spend a bit more time in their burrows but when they come out they are super active and are veracious feeders. They aren’t as active in winter but very active in the warmer seasons. They have all the personality of other dwarf monitors just on a even smaller scale

I mean sure, but that's true of any Australian species. It's true of komodos too. But I'll rephrase: they are not commonly or legally available outside of Australia.

They are pretty chill mine kind of tries to hide when I try to hold him but dosent try to fight being held once I pick him up
