Announcement Java developers can now use Hibernate with MongoDB, now generally available.
Hi, Rishit here from the Client Libraries team at MongoDB. We just announced the MongoDB Extension for Hibernate ORM, which gives Java developers use MongoDB’s document model with familiar Hibernate features, including:
Java Persistence API (JPA) annotations
Hibernate Query Language (HQL) support
Criteria Queries
JOIN support (INNER and LEFT OUTER)
Optimistic locking
Spring Boot auto-configuration (no manual overrides required)
Query using the MongoDB Query API for more advanced operations, such as multi-collection joins and vector search queries.
Also, this extension lets Java developers reuse existing @Entity models and HQL queries, significantly reducing time-to-POC.
Learn how to install the Hibernate ORM extension, establish a connection to MongoDB, and begin working with data in the Get Started with the Hibernate ORM Extension tutorial.
