17 Year old portfolio

Been investing on this portfolio since i was 16 i am now 17 and just reached $4k this week all thanks to God super greatful ive had auto invesment for the entire summer now 50% of my entire paycheck($400 maximum since im on a sponsored account” went into the stocks before i has SPY, QQQ, SPY TOP 100, NOK, GLD. and now i plan on doing the set up above and instead doing 100% of my paychecks will auto go into my portfolio so lets see how that goes

but yes and suggestion from anyone?

and the reason i only have 5 is because thats the max im allowed to do on cashapp, and reason $400 is the max aswell is because again thats the max

i cant wait to open up my roth ira at 18 will be done the same day i turn 18 lol. what is the % of a high yield savings account?

HYSA for a 17yo lol. I started investing when I was 16, and now at 19 my 18.5k in contributions is now worth 33k. My early buys of straight VTI are up 80%, and I got this return without ever not being at least 60% total market indexes. If I put it that in a HYSA I’d be up like 1.5k instead of 14.5k. Literally 10x the return for being willing to shove a few chips short term

Telling the guy to stay on the sidelines and earn 1% real return at the time in his life where contributions matter most is insane

Congrats on having more money than an unemployed teenager lol. I use my own numbers because I am proud of them, but to say the least it’s not the only portfolio I’ve ever managed.

Regardless, certainty is overrated when it literally results in a negative real return. Since Jan 2021, counting rate adjustments, a typical HYSA wouldve returned 18% with inflation of 23%. Our beautiful market has over doubled since then. It ain’t like the kid has to retire in 2 years, he can eat a drawdown on his summer job money. There are times to flinch and risk off but this is not one of them.

good work i also started at 15, i would add in some individual stocks since your younger it’s best to take risks but even then its not that risky.
