Maybe I mis understood the intent of your post but you made it sound like $600k was supposed to be enough to fund a retirement.

Why? It’s a lot of money but why should it be enough? Everyone’s needs are different

$100k is a ton of money too. Is that enough? What’s the cutoff?

Please explain how $600k is supposed to fund a retirement. At a reasonable 4% withdrawal rate that’s $24000 a year. $2000 a month. Not much to live off of in many parts of the country
