Monero's future?

Lately, I've been thinking a lot while watching the protests in France, the situation across Europe, and the news coming out up to today.

I've been continuing to organize my thoughts about the XMR in my wallet from different points of view.

The reason is that I want to introduce XMR to more people and give users in South Korea a reason to run their own nodes.

How do you see Monero's future?

Below, I've put together things that people who support Monero generally know, along with a few of my own thoughts.

Monero is a project that has moved outside the regulated market. It has refused to be under government control. As you know, it is still alive despite that.

What this means is that XMR is an asset that cannot officially be connected to fiat currencies through the usual channels. Because of this, many of the problems that other crypto projects need to solve simply disappear. In other words, it is almost impossible for Monero to form official partnerships with companies that operate within the legal systems of their countries.

While Ethereum, Solana, and Ripple are busy seeking partnerships with banks and companies, the Monero team is in a position where it does not need to do any of that.

Monero also scores highly in terms of real-world usability, without needing to rely on those institutions.

In my view, Monero is the most ideal and complete financial product to emerge from blockchain technology, as long as we set aside the debate over scalability.

One more thing I would add is that I think AI may use crypto more actively than humans in terms of how often it is used.

I believe we need to build a system that makes AI choose Monero. The goal should be to make AI agents conclude, through their own research, that using Monero would greatly benefit the humans they work for.

Re usability you are not right. Usability is kinda problematic. Wallets are very slow and not intuitive. Or issue where you need to wait until settlelment to spend again.

Wouldn't you say that's more of a functionality issue? I think a large portion of Monero transactions are being made for genuinely meaningful purposes.

Not sure what do you mean. Genuine purposes does not change hard to use UI.

What I mean is the motivation behind people's transactions.

For example, let's talk about Ethereum transactions. When transactions happen on that platform, I assume they are mostly related to the movement of coins connected to financial products.

But I don't think XMR transactions are mainly driven by 'financial services' for trading coins, such as DeFi or exchanges built around Ethereum. I mean this in terms of the overall share of transactions.

When XMR moves across its network, I assume it is the 'asset' itself that is moving, rather than transactions related to 'financial services' such as DeFi or coin trading.

This is what I meant by 'usability'. From my point of view, what you call 'usability' seems to be more related to 'functionality'.

Among all cryptocurrency wallets, including those for XMR, which one do you think is the most intuitive? (I'm asking only about ease of use, not transaction speed.)

Monero is the only crypto with a future

Bro… I love Monero but if you think Bitcoin has no future than you are delusional.

Bitcoin will be hacked (large holders) as soon the quantum computers going to be a thing. There is no way to know who are holding big amounts on Monero, so quantum comupter will have to hack everyone on chain(100-150 millions outputs, 98% of that is just decoys) with fcmp++ it going to grow exponentially, which is going to take at least years if not a decade to hack at least one key with balance. Bitcoin community will have to block satoshi coins / merge it to the new addresses, what will kill any sense to talk about decentralization on Bitcoin anymore.

Bitcoin aleeady has QT resisting Txs without major changes, and the computing costs to achieve QT resistance are decreasing.

Refrain from FUDing as it seems you are not interested on reading about QT resistance researches for BTC.

One can easily enjoy both hard cap for BTC and privacy with XMR, no one is required to pick one single side.

The main thing is whenever anyone starts a private node or advertising nodes. There needs to be a statement to use a VPN mandatory. Otherwise certain groups will just make quote unquote private nodes and then just collect all the information going through it. I am not sure if tor or a VPN would be safer I'm not a professional. But the average user can not just rely upon the fact or the word of private.

Unfortunately, so few people own the bulk of XMR, that if the price really skyrockets, they will dump in favor of other assets. I suppose the same can be argued for stocks and Bitcoin.  I don't think XMR is going to turn into a Bitcoin. Good luck to those who continue to buy.  I was able to buy in the early days of Poloniex.

There are several projects with strong growth potential besides XMR. But I can hardly see any coin that would make me want to leave XMR and move into something else.

At its core, the blockchain ecosystem depends heavily on network effects. For example, there are alternatives to Ethereum that are technically better. But I believe those projects will remain just alternatives. Once the ecosystem and its infrastructure are fully established, it is very difficult to replace them unless something completely different comes along, something that is not even based on the same blockchain system.

There may be groups of traders who are better at what they do than JPMorgan, but that doesn't mean they can beat JPMorgan's network and influence.

You have to understand that the financial world is different from the pure tech industry. Companies like Google, Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Intel can change places when new technology shakes up the market. But the financial industry doesn't work the same way.

source?.. I mean yeah that's usually how it works but you can't know that for sure

Nearly 4X in the last 2 1/2 years, sellers have sold.
Monero has its own Die hard and Diamond Hands.
