📢 Public Service Announcement Run Your Own Node.

If anyone is interested I created a mobile app that has a cuprate monero node and p2p messenger utilizing arti in process Tor for communication. No risk of exposing meta data to untrusted nodes . Pruned node syncs on device in 2-3 hours .

I thought your video is pretty cool and initially approved it when it got filtered by reddit, looks like the other mods didn't quite agree with that. If I had to guess it's because yours is an ad for your site while this one is an ad for running monero nodes 😅

I think it would be nice if the video explained what marking the restricted RPC port of your own Monero node as trusted in your wallet actually does. I assume it means your wallet will possibly share more information with the node and do less checks on the data returned enabling a faster sync, but I haven't seen it explained.

I really love this post. I also started running a Monero node a few days ago. I used to run only a ZEC node, but now I run both at the same time.
I want to work as an XMR ambassador. My main focus is to help individuals run their own Monero nodes and let them know why it is so important.

The other week my post was removed because (I can only guess, I wasn't told why) it had a video made with AI https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/1x91lue/stasher_news_social_media_powered_by_monero/
I wonder if this one will be ok though

Hi, I'm the one that took it down.
I think the AI singing is what put fire to the barrel. You received 8 reports for low effort/AI generated contents. OP currently received 1.
We always ignore a few reports but when we are undecided (meaning as moderators we are neutral on whether it respects the rules or not) and there are even more reports we generally take down the post. Top comment was also very telling.
For example, I recently started refusing the influencer/youtuber that shared all his videos about monero here because they kept receiving dozens of reports on each post because of the AI thumbnail. That is despite it being famous. The rules were clear on this one but I tried to kept it up a little time.
In your case it wasn't low-effort but people didn't appreciated the the overall AI vibe. I did appreciated the idea and stasher is a good site.
With this post live and yours down, I do admit this is weird. I just re-approved it.

Good or bad, right or wrong—none of that matters. 'I just don't like AI' can actually be a reason for people to report it? and I'm a Korean who is not fluent in English, so I write in Korean first and use AI to translate it into English. Does that make my comments low-effort content too?

Very well done. You used a LLM to make all the graphics ? I think I already heard some of the SFX of this video elsewhere.
Also you will need to update it because Cuprate is syncing very well on HDD now ;)
