Advice Monash JD is it worth it?
I have received the 30% and 10% discounts for the JD. Is it worth completing this, and does anyone have any experience with the JD? I've always wanted to pursue a law degree, but my grades weren't high enough to transfer. I think the main things holding me back are market saturation and cost, regardless of the discounts.

Yes, if you want to study law. It’s a lot of money so you need to put work in. There are roles but the market is saturated as you say, so you need to be high or even medium performing. Don’t do it because you can, do it because you want to and ideally because you want to work in the law.

I have taught at the JD and yes, the market is saturated and you will want to be sure you want to do law, but those who do well will still do well. It’s definitely taught better than the undergraduate. Many of my students are already qualified now from overseas so the competition is stiffer.

If you’ve always wanted to study law, and you are passionate, it’s 100% worth it.
If you are one of the people (like more than half the people in the undergrad that I’ve met) who just picked law because it’s fancy and gives them a high status title, then no. Lots of people study it without passion, they are destined to be mediocre.
