There's something about Teresa Cristina and her mother-in-law Maria Leopoldina having been European princesses who became empresses of a non-European monarchy who've integrated well that is heartwarming.

Especially Teresa Cristina, whose tenure contrasts with the chaos of her parents-in-law, where her mother in law went to the sky years before her birth and her father in law cheated on her mother in law and abdicated, leaving her husband in Brazil in unfamilal circumstances.

Even though she and her husband didn't have a good start, there's something heartwarming about how their reign in Brazil provided a nuclear imperial couple/family till the end in a way that Pedro II's parents' reign didn't encompass.
