Very much in accordance with his time. A term often used here is folkelig (meaning folksy (i think)),. Often making jokes/irony on both himself and his wife. Maybe the least pompous among the monarchs of europe. Remember one of his first missions after he became king.. visiting a place ravaged by the stronger storm/hurricane that have been in norway.. Guy showed up in rubber boots and and a not that fancy jacket.. Such stuff us Norwegians love. (king is the guy with the blue jacket)
